Sold My Detailing Shop, On A Major Break In Life
Got an offer I could not refuse for multiple six figures. I am going to take a break in life, and enjoy the Maragarita's on the beach and backpacking in the Sierra, and my new girlfriend, . I will come back at some point doing only ceramic coatings. IMO anything else its a total waste of time. Truly appreciate BudgetPlan1's posts as we seem to be on the same page. My next goal is to study the ceramic's to determine the next thing.

Best of luck with your new endeavors; sometimes stepping back for a bit/taking a break opens up new joys in life. I spent 25 years in corporate IT/software development and now clean/maintain swimming pools. Much happier now.
All the best, hope to see ya post occasionally...

Best of luck and enjoy the break! I've enjoyed and learned a good bit from your various posts on detailing and the tools of the trade!

70 years old, but still youthful. I run several marathons a year, and do some serious hiking in the Sierra/Yosemite. I have run Big Sur International Marathon for 33 years in a row and one of 14 left that have done this out of 1/2 million runners.

Right now, I am taking a few months break, with an occasional request appearance to come and do a black car at my old shop as per the agreement. Seems I am one of the few that has black cars figured out.
My thinking is to go into Orange County/San Diego and do mobile ceramics, one or two cars a week. Been incredibly impressed with Feynlabs Heal Plus. It truly does an incredible job of filling in swirls on dark colored cars. I was given the entire Northern California district as an exclusive installer, I will talk to them to see what I can do in those areas.
If you find an Feynlab installer in your area, take it if you have a dark colored car the product is simply amazing.
Thinking of calling my new business "Pure Brilliance" had it named for this shop as it is very Silicon Valley like, but the wife said how about "Deep Reflections?" Being married for 40 some years you don't argue with that.
Thanks for the compliments, I am happy some of you learned a few things. I will be back at some point, as I now have a ton of time to study and play with the latest technology in coatings

Congrats on the shop sale and thanks for your contributions over the years.
I think I read in a post you are thinking about an Aston, be sure to post pics if you get one.

Yes an Aston is in the future, for the moment. I may hold off to see what the C8 looks like, but an Aston is my first choice. For the immediate future I need to go in a slightly different direction to be mobile and a vehicle that will support that. I did one car in Laguna Niguel, CA and now have two more to do next week in the same neighborhood. With the possibility of more work in that area. As I was told, "I have tried other detailers, but no one does car as well as you do!" An incredible compliment.

Yes, the new owner and I have the same philosophy when detailing cars, plus my help stayed, so in essence it is the same shop, just without my happy, smiling pretty face....LOL But seriously, I had a few people interested, and willing to pay more, but they just did not have the same idea of quality that the current owner has.
