Best glass cleaner ever!!!
So i have tried almost every glass cleaner you can think of, and every one claims to be streak free. I have tried the special glass cleaning rags with these cleaners as well. In the end it always seems to be a ton of elbow grease, a lot of time and still different degrees of streaks. Then one day i was using Meguires Ultimate detailer on my 17 ZO6 and said what the heck let me try it on the glass. I applied a light mist to the glass, worked it in with a microfiber towel then immediately buffed it dry with another dry microfiber. To my amazement not only was the glass clean and streak free but it was the quickest and easiest application i have ever had cleaning glass. I wanted to make sure i wasn't imagining this so i had my wife who has also used many different glass cleaners try it as well. I had her come out to the garage, clean the windshield of her car with Meguires Ultimate Detailer. She could not stop saying how well it worked and how easy it was to use. I would love to hear back from anyone who has tried this product on glass and how there experience was with it.

Most detail sprays can be used on glass. The rinseless/waterless wash products work better, though. Optimum No-Rinse works extremely well as a glass cleaner.
Personally, I have absolutely zero problems with streaking on windows. The key is technique. I was always using one towel. Now, I use 2 towels. A waffle-weave glass towel for applying the cleaner and for initial wiping. Then a dry short-nap microfiber towel to dry buff. Works every time. The dry buff is the secret.
I bought a gallon of Meguiar's D120 Glass Cleaner for $23, as it is safe for tinted windows, smells a little like grape soda, and it dilutes to make over 10 gallons of product. An unbelievable deal. I replaced all my household glass cleaners since I have so much Meguiar's product. Works great on chrome and mirrors and countertops.

FYRARMS is correct in using two MF towels, a waffle weave to apply and a short nap to remove and polish. Most spray detailers do work well on windows like RainX but without all the laborious polishing you have with RainX.

Sounds like some people should consider using more thought.

Yea, ammonia is no good if you have tints.
Will probably tint the vette at some point. In the past with tinted windows I've used plexus, which is a plastic cleaner/protectant.
Might try the Meguiar's stuff above. Grape soda smell sounds better than ammonia!

I've used quick detailer on windows before but the two best products I've ever used have been an aerosol can of John Deere Glass cleaner and one from Larson Juhl used to polish and clean picture frame glass. The young woman who frames most of our art work gave me a can of it when I asked her how good it was. Cost was $3.00/can in bulk. Never had any streaking with either one.

I use 50/50 isopropyl alcohol/distilled water and of course a new good microfiber towel.

GM's aerosol glass cleaner is good about $6 a can.
Claying the w/s first can be a good idea.
00 steel wool can also be good to prep the w/s.
Yes, using two rags is also a good idea. +1
Finish off with Rain-X.
I am not sure which is best, but GM's seems better than Windex and other brands to me.

I use the Rain X brand, is it the best? Who knows but it does a good job for me

Over the years I have tried some great glass cleaners. What I have found is that it makes a huge difference in what you use to apply the glass cleaner. Paper towels are the absolute worst, bad streaking and paper lint. Newspaper works pretty well but the news print gets all over your hands and the paper gets mushy. A high quality micro fiber weave towel works very well as does regular light weight microfiber. The secret seems to be after the glass is clean hand polish the dry glass with the MF towels. If you clean/polish in a vertical direction on the outside and a horizontal direction on the inside you can tell which side any streaking may be. Works for me!

During the warmer months, try cleaning the glass out of direct sunlight. If it's been in sunlight or driven around, let the glass cool in the shade. Warm/hot glass is hard to clean as the product dries before you have a chance to buff off clean.
I think majority of the ammonia free glass cleaners work similarly. Sometimes, you just need to be more patient and use extra towels if the glass has been neglected.

I tried the Ultimate Detailer on my window's, and they came out very slick and shiny. I won't use it on the windshied again, The next morning I turned on the wiper's to clear the morning dew and they skipped four or five time's on every wipe Invisible glass & microfiber work's well for me.
