Maguires # 26 vs. gold glass wax
FWIW.
Seems # 26 Hi Tech wax is a pure wax.
Carnauba blends, no polishes, can be layered.
More difficult to remove if left to dry.
Professional series - paste
$15 at Walmart.
Gold Glass wax has a mild polish.
Carnauba blends, I would classify as a mild cleaner wax, won't layer.
Easy to remove if left to dry.
Consumer series - paste.
$10 at Walmart
So, I have been using Gold Class (paste/ tin can) for the last year or two and have been okay
with the products performance.
It does seem to lose that "fresh wax slipperiness" in a few days.
As a hobby I wax too often and the layering/ build up of this product did NOT seem to occur.
Shine/ depth etc is okay. I would apply by hand with a small yellow foam pad, Maguires # 7 mirror glaze first, then wax, second coat wax, then glaze again in a few days.
PS My car 2005 Corvette black (yes black).
I write this tread now before I try the # 26.
If my memory does not fail me this holiday season, I'll add my # 26 comments/ comparison to Gold Class below.
I am hoping the laying aspect of # 26 is true and I get even more shine/ depth.
FWIW Maguires has good products IMO and for me the price and brick & mortar store availability is attractive.
Have fun and comments welcomed to increase my knowledge of these Maguires products.

Meg's #26 has been around forever, and is still a great carnauba for the money. A little dusty compared to newer formulas, but last well for a wax. I recently detailed a friend's dark metallic grey car, and after polishing the paint, I laid down a coat of Meg's #7 glaze followed by a coat of Meg's #21 sealant. After the sealant cured overnight, I laid down a coat of Meg's #26 liquid wax. That trifecta makes for a can't-lose winning combo. #7 then #21 then #26. Pretty decent paint protection from the #21, too.

Hi all,
Initial thoughts on # 26 vs Gold Class.
Both are easy to remove, noting I did use the panel by panel # 26 instruction.
# 26 does appear to give a deep/ glossier shine on black, I think it dries clearer, or in other words more transparent.
# 26 does not feel as slippery once applied & dried as Gold Glass.
# 26 seems to have no "fill" properties at all, Gold Glass seems to fill a little, like a glaze.
I have not done multiple coats (layering) with # 26 yet.
No comment on which may last longer.
So repeating my initial comments are again initial thoughts.
So to sum up my initial thoughts....
If the paint surface is new/ pristine # 26 may be better.
If the paint surface is older/ a little worn & torn from daily use Gold Glass may be better.
Both are good products and the price difference is small.
(Rant note, the Gold Glass tin can is easier to open than the # 26 can.)
Happy holidays 2018.
