Hello all,

Just finished detailing my 02Z, thought I'd share.

I was using new products that all made the detailing process so much better. Here's the order I used with the products I used as well.

Wash
Clay
Wash
Polish - Menzerna 2500
Polish - Menzerna 3500
CarPro Eraser
Sealant - Jescar's Power Lock
Wax - Collinite 845

Looks great. Wish I had the patience and time for another black car.

Thanks gentlemen!

It did take quite a while, almost 8 hours start to finish spread across a few days but I am happy with the outcome.

Well done, and excellent choice of products! Someone did their homework! The Powerlock/Collinite combo looks amazing, and is incredibly durable. Ceramic coatings? Never heard of them.

I've seen/heard nothing but good things about PL/Collinite, I really wanted to test it out and I am not disappointed. The two bottles I have will last quite a long time as well, because a little bit of each goes a very long way.

I agree about coatings, never been a big fan of them. I'd use them on a daily driver, but nothing beats the look of a fresh sealant/wax combo.

I watched a video last night of a detailing training session with the guys from Rupes Polishers. Everyone agreed that for show cars, weekend toys, or the cars that owners enjoy detailing, just stick to quality sealants and waxes. Nobody in those categories needs a coating that lasts 1-3 years. Fixing bird bombs, accidental swirls, and other minor spot corrections needs to be quick and easy for those guys. They said the cars that really need ceramic coatings are the daily drivers with scratches and dings. The ones that aren't going to get detailed often and you want to be able to clean very easily. Made perfect sense to me!

I have used Menzerna polishes for years with great results. Great job!

Thanks everyone!

I have never used these two Menzerna polishes, or the sealant and wax, but as a total package they are outstanding and didn't destroy my bank account.

Black is a hard color to maintain, but I wouldn't have any other color for a corvette. As I type this though, a fine layer of pollen has already accumulated on the car and will be needing a clean up soon!
