Wax removal from body panel seams
Ok, this is starting to annoy me. I have a 94, and there is a seam along the back of the car where the bumper mates with the rear deck and quarter panels. Everyone with a C4 knows what I'm talking about. This crack has an incredible ability to trap enormous amounts of wax residue, even if you are very careful and don't get any wax in the seam. On my admiral blue car, it looks like the paint has chipped off in these areas, when really it is just the white wax residue. Looks horrible.
So, my question is, do any of you detailing gurus have some magical technique for getting the wax residue out of body panel seams like this??? I thought about trying a regular toothbrush, but I'm worried it will scratch the paint. Fingernail isn't cutting it either. Will some special horsehair detailing brush do the trick? Perhaps spraying lighter fluid on the back bumper and applying fire.
And don't say switch to Zaino. Although I might eventually go that route, it won't do anything about the stuff that's already in there! :mad
I await your sage wisdom

A tooth brush is very aggressive.
Purchase a 1 inch soft bristle paint brush, trim the bristles with a razor blade, by laying the brush on a hard surface to a length of about 1/2 inch, keeping the bristles even.
Then gently brush the residue out of the cracks.
Or, you can go on line and buy some "special detail brush", which is what I just told you how to make, for 3 times the money.

I spent about $10 on one of the best 1 1/2 inch paint brushes with natural bristles. I didn't trim the ends because they were feathered and very fine. Be sure to put duck tape or masking tape around the metal part of the brush so you don't inadvertantly scratch your car.

Tried Q-tips, they won't fit in the seams. Tooth brush looks like it's leaving scratches.
Also, I'd worry about a toothpick scratching, and it's still probably too big to get the wax out of the seams.
