Baby oil lotion as a leather conditioner?
I overheard one coworker tell another today that baby oil lotion (not straight baby oil) makes a great, inexpensive leather seat and surface conditioner. Not that I (or any of us, for that matter) am so cheap as to not pay for the good and proper stuff, but what do you all think of this idea? Anyone had any actual experience using baby oil lotion on their leather seats and surfaces? Would it even be good to use in an emergency situation, such as after cleaning up a spill during a road trip?
All ideas are appreciated, and thanks in advance! :D

My unimformed intuition tells me that it offers no UV type protection from the sun...not that I know for sure that any of the others do, but I would certainly hope so...

How could you stand the smell!? Smells good on babies but in the car...not for me.

Tell him to use Avon "Skin so Soft". That should help protect the seats from mosquitos and chiggers!

John, you just spent $50K for a Vette. Spring for the extra $15 or so and get some good cleaner and conditioner!! You'll like the real cleaner conditioner MUCH better than a poor substitute like baby lotion.
If you must keep it in the car for trips, put the bottle(s) in a ziplock baggy and stash it behind the seat or in the rear storage.

I guess if I was on a trip and spilt something on the leather I might try it. But why bother. It is for skin and leather is skin. I guess it should work. My .02  :seeya

The "good stuff" just isn't that expensive. But then, why use a screwdriver when you have a butter knife?
