Default Brake Dust Question

I'm sure similar threads or question has been posted before but...

Other than elbow grease - is there a product to help loosen brake dust for easier cleaning, and one that will not damage chrome. Thanks in advance

Griots Garage Wheel Cleaner , it is not acidic or lye based like almost all store brands. It is even endorsed by a very large aftermarket wheel company.

If you are looking for something cheaper Meguiar's Hot Rims/Cool Care is a great product as well...though you will need a strong stream of water (pressure washer) to remove it all properly.
