Ok, well almost... Robert commandeered my car to see what a real driver can do.

His first run was a duplicate of my best run for today... I was like I guess that is the best she can do...

Then he goes for the 2nd run... I am standing next to the Starter when he launched her..

Looked like like it got shot off an aircraft carrier...
I watched for the number.... 12.02!!!!! Holy Crap.. .03 away from the ellusive 11.99...

He was shifting at 6000 rpms and launched at 5000rpms. He told me he left more on the table. In additions to that it also hot as hell out today...

I am sort of glad he did not actually HIT the 11.99 because I'd like to actually be the 1st... At least he proved it CAN be done.. Thanks again Robert for showing my girl a good time...without going too far...

Here is the slip

Thanks Jeff but now I need to actually learn how to do it for myself...

He powershifted 1st... I need to practice that .. Force of habit makes it very difficult to just do that for one shift... and leave my gas foot planted...

I've got the run on video...I'll get to Robert who'll make a video for you to post. He's one of those Mac guys who knows how to do that stuff!

Nice runs yesterday. Your car is very fast for low mods, you should be happy with it!

Cool! Will do once Robert dubs them up. Raw footage is a little tough to watch, lots of shots of the sky and ground. Although my 4 y/o and my 18 month od enjoyed it last night. The baby loves my cutouts... he says VROOMPAAAH Daddy!

Chuck you are doing great. Once you get a feel for a 5k launch and powershifting you will be in there.

Many people have to overcome their fear of breaking their own car, but it takes a special kind of guy to abuse another man's car.

yah... and to think he set records in 3 people's cars (all 6 speeds) that day! He jumped into the cars for the first time, took one shakedown pass, then set the cars' best records in his 2nd run in each car. Oh and the DA was about 2900 also.

Robert can drive.

I am gonna use that video to duplicate the run....luckily you caught the entire run from Burn to Trap..

, he drove my car to a new best, 11.19@123..71. I didn't do too bad either for my first time ever: 12.37@120.69. Had some great teachers: Robert, Joe and Steve.

You had some EXCELLENT teachers. So how did you like getting behind the wheel? Are you comfortable enough to run with us now?

Bob, he's like an old hand now! Watch out for him... I think he had a .600 light, then redlight, then what, a .080 light? I think he's been sandbagging us.

Oddly enough, nobody set any records that night. Even though Pinks was there and they prepped the heck out of the track several of us had traction problems. Maybe it was just too cold! First time I've seen -500 DA here in FL, and it was cold AND really damp. Not good for traction.

Yesterday the track was HOOKING. One of the best days I've seen. I was getting 1.7's all day long which is good for me.

Chuck, Robert just needed a 3rd pass in your car to get the job done.

But remember something. I can consistently get 1.7's. If the track's hooking 1.6's. I've also got almost 200 runs logged. Robert has thousands. Like golf, practice makes perfect in this game. Also like golf, watching someone great at the game is a joy and much can be learned if you listen to what guys like Robert have to say. My game has improved dramatically since we became friends.
