17's or 18's...??
Looking at putting some M/T's ET Street Radials on either a 17" or 18" wheel for the strip. Any advantage to one size or the other?
Staying with a diameter that is close to the stock RF. Any issues with running the M/T Street Radials with the factory RF's up front?
Its a '07 C6 A6 w/3.42's with factory 18's and 19's wheels/tires.

Rim diameter makes NO difference weather its 15, 16, 17, 18, or 19... Bottom line is the DIAMETER if the TIRE.. now if the stock tire diameter is 26" and you use a 15" rim you will have a bigger sidewall thus helping you in the traction dept. However if you use a 17 or 18" rim to have the same 26" overall tire diameter you will have a much thinner sidewall tire... which is BAD for drag Racing..
Ideally u would like a 15" rim with enough tire to to give you a 26" overall diameter.. now your tire size is the same diameter, BUT you have larger sidewall to help in launching...
If you use a 18" rim your tire will be like a rubber band very thin sidewall which is NG for Drag Racing..
Bottom line if you want to keep the OVERALL diameter at 26" the bigger the rim the smaller the sidewall...
Nothing is for free... if you want the big 18" rims you have to give up the "IDEAL" tire....
Let some of the other guys who know about tires more than I do jump in and see if they agree. or maybe I'm out in left field..

with John above.
The standard C6's rear tire diameter is roughly 26.85" tall and there is no exact drag radial that meets that.
M/T drag radials in size 305-35-18 comes close (roughly 26.4") but is also a very expensive, heavy and hard to locate tire.
Their 295-45-17 is a little too tall (27.2" or 27.4" I think) for many NA applications but they do provide a nice sidewall and you DO have those 3.42s (very steep gearing for an A6 trans) so that could be a great tire for you on the right rim (17x10 maybe?).
I use their 275-40-17s on a 17x8.5" rim and that seems to be a nice compromise of grip, price, weight and availability.
Ideally you'd want a 16" drag radial set up but the C6's rear brakes/suspension does not easily allow for that unfortunately.
