Default Street/Strip Insurance

I'm looking to change the insurance on the Corvette for next year. Because it is driven both on the street, and on the strip, I'd like to switch to someone who will cover it all the time -- not just on the street.

Who are you guys using, and what do you think of them?

Never heard of coverage for the drag strip. That said, if it's available at a reasonable cost please let us know who wants the business.

Most people never admit to their insurance company that they drag race their car.......I hope your agent doesn't read this thread.

This was discussed here couple months ago. I believe it was DR. Ron who provided this Ins. carrier.
http://aounderwriters.com/index.html

It sounded pretty good. I think it only covers you from water box to turn-off.

What kind of money are they asking for coverage ON track...

If they covered "Breakage" now THAT would be some deal... Imagine blowing a rear, or transmission,& calling your insurance Co... and getting a check that week

just called AO Underwriters and here's what I found out.

I estimated the car to be worth $55,000 with all the add-ons (D1SC, heads, cam, headers, exhaust, 402 stroker). Their quote:

$1,250 annual with a $1,000 deductible for 1/4 mile only. Maybe I valued the car to high. What have others heard for quotes?

Yeah I think you may have valued it to high. I am paying $500 for 25K value. It was $600 for 30K. Remember if the car is totaled you have first opportunity to buy it back.
