Default Snap, Crackle.....Pop!.....

I went to race in an all run event against the no box and full electronics cars tonight...I planned to footbrake their azzes off...$20 entry paid $550 to win...only 17 in the field due to the cold weather...when the race started at 9:30 PM it was 54 degrees/47 with wind chill and we were freezing...go ahead and laff you Joisey folks...lol...

My first shot off the trailer I went 7.11 a full 7/100 faster than ever before...the DA had to be around +300 to 400...woot!....not bad for my 3700 lb. turd...anyway, I had a .008 tree so I was on kill for sure...

Sadly, this is where things went wrong...on my second time shot I did a one legged burnout...I did not know it at the time but when I almost hit the wall in second gear I knew something was up...

On my third time shot both tires burned out so I staged and launched...10' out I heard a bang and then had a box full of nuetrals...no 1st,2nd or 3rd...reverse worked...the driveshaft does turn in all gears so I am thinking it is not the tranny but the rear end...

I'm guessing the posi unit but who knows...there should have been a spool in my 12 bolt but I bought the car with the posi and ran it till it broke..I cannot complain since I got about 400 passes on that posi...

We will open her up on Monday and if it is the posi we will put a spool in...we will probably do that anyway...

Lastly, they announced a first annual event on Dec. 19th...a no box event for $10,000 to win...$125 to enter...I am so in that race...this little 1/8 mile track is really starting to make some moves...

At least you know the problem is not electrical!

God luck to you Sir, on the 19th.

I don't live in Jersey, so can I bust on ya about the "cold" weather.
I'm racing in the last points race for the Corvette Challenge today and the high is supposed to be around 54! Can't wait to get started!!

A mini spool would be a quick, cheap alternative to a full spool. Mine has held up well so far at my power level (high 1.5 60s, 7.0 8ths), but if/when it does grenade I will likely do full spool and beefier axles.

if that's a guaranteed purse, they'll need 80 racers to cover the Winner's share-alone, and we haven't mentioned insurance, staffing, utilities, R/U, etc. ~ they better advertise the snot outta that race...

I have thought about mini's but for the extra $100 I will probably go full...overkill at my power level but it will be one less thing to worry about...

Glen...they have a minimum set at 150 cars for that payout...I cannot believe they will have this race on 5 weeks notice......if they get 100 cars I will be shocked but one never knows..I wonder if it conflicts with any other events?...

I hear it's a little warmer in Ft. Myers. We will be comming down next week to look at apartments. I will most likely be in cold PA until spring.

If I do make it down Dec 17 I will be spending time with my wife instead of racing. I am thinking of throwing the MT's in the trunk and driving down in the mustang To be honest I really hate the idea of her moving 1200 miles away but with these financially challanging times we have to do what is best. I hope to be down in Ft Myers with her by next summer and racing with u all.

December 19 will be there for that one. Dan let me know what hotel rooms are available up there at that time so I can make a reservation. Anything by the track. Let me know if there's a test and tune on Saturday. Rick

I posted this in the "Other cars" section....

I exploded the spider gears and posi in my 2nd gen Camaro last Friday night...I will be upgrading to 33 spline axles with a full spool and c-clip eliminators...

This means I now have a great deal for someone...I am selling my stock 30 spline axles with 2 year old Moser C-Clip eliminiators already installed on them...

The c-clips alone are $150 but I will sell everything for $200....everything is in great shape...y'all can contact me at djw1@cfl.rr.com .....

Thanks...Dan

p.s. Rick...they generally run a test n tune every Saturday night...I will be in touch about that and a hotel...

Dan... since you are having to purchase a spool and new axles to-match, if the parts haven't been ordered, ask Rob what the price difference is between the 33-spline, and 35-spline pieces, and if would be worth any additional cost

Thanks Dan for information. I just made my reservations at the Hampton inn. So it looks like we'll be hanging out together. I am sure that we will get some more people coming up from PBIR. We have a challenge race and a gambler's race on Saturday so I will let everybody know.....
