Shen clinches 9.50; Wells wins 10.50; Ellis 11.5 champ; Blauvelt CC hat trick

I agree.
It was all over three races ago ago for me, Tommy still had a shot up to two races ago.
Tommy and I were both talking about that very thing (first loser) at the track when we were trying to figure out the rest of the standings.
Its like a Silver medal in the Olympics, who cares.
Or maybe we are just sore losers?

I wasn't in the Pro 11.50 to win this season, I was there simply to race and maybe land a top 6 finish in points.
If it's really just a 'win or nothing at all' type of thing then I might have to reconsider my racing plans for the future.

Well if that's the case then why do those of us who realistically have little or no shot at even a top three spot in the overall standings (in any of the classes) even bother to compete at all in the first place?

IDK, does that mean all NFL teams that didn't do well so far this season should bail out? What about MLB?
I guess when you are close to winning it all and lead the points more than once, you are shooting for the Gold.
Me personally, I race for fun, but if I can't win it all, then fifth or sixth or what ever is just as good as second.
Remember, only one person wins. ALL of the others in ALL of the classes are in the same position as You, Tommy and I.

CI VI Drag Champ!
Steve I just called Tommy to get the proper spelling and size for your jacket since you don't want it...malagradecido

"I don't need anymore jackets, I just want the Ring"
Malagradecido yourself!
You also failed to realize Tommy said the Exact Same thing!
"What I was refering to was trophy's and jackets...just a personal thing."
Ring Any Bells?
I love how people love, to single me out.
Good thing I can take it.

Yeah, this coming from a guy that said the same thing to me.

"Second place is the First Loser!"
You can't even tell anyone you were runner up or that you came in second place.
Their all like "Oh that's too bad" or "Oh, you came pretty close"
If your a winner your a Winner, if your not, your Not.
I never said I didn't want the jacket.
I am just not overly excited to have Runnered-Up.
I barely got past Tommy, it could have just as easily been him.
I wasn't a stand out.
I am actually more proud of all of my #1 Qualifiers than coming in second in points.
And to tell the truth, the car let me down. Call it an excuse or whatever makes you happy.
The 10.50 class didn't see my best performance.
I broke a valve spring in the middle of the season while in first place and I fought a chronic intermittent hesitation all season long.
(That I still have not figured out, that has been there since Jerry owned the car.)
Edgar, You have known me long enough to know, I am an All or Nothing kind of guy.
If I can't have the coffee exactly the way I want it, then I don't want any coffee at all.
That's how I roll.
All Runner-Ups feel free to chime in?
Eric, Are you happy about losing to Ellis?
Are you proud of coming in second in 11.50 Index?
Dave H, Are you the least bit excited that you came in second to Shen in 9.50 Index?
I am not asking if you had fun.
I had a great time.
Bottom Line: "Second place is the First Loser!"
Now all you guys that came in 3rd and on down the line, don't get your panties in a Wad.
If you are proud of your accomplishment then more power to you.

Let me fix that for you...
And that's the truth.
On average, he was the better racer, with the better car.
He deserves All the Cudos!
One way or the other, he beat me everytime we lined up.
That alone makes him worthy of the 10.50 Championship in my opinion.
I am hoping to change that this Saturday.

This class is awesome! I hope it keeps growing, from what is said in the lanes, we will have a few more faces in the class!

Finally, I realize most people are going to disagree with me, because most people didn't win the championship. So if I am not thrilled with a Runner-Up, then that somehow denies them of a feeling of success?
Get over it. I did.
I don't need people to fluff my dress.
Is the competition tough? Of course it is.
Did I accomplish something? I sure did.
I bought a Corvette JUST to race in this Exact series.
You all are the Best racers I know.
Ask Ellis what I told him about 2 years ago.
Ask Edgar how I envied this series for so many years.
That said, I came to Win, not play hopscotch.
I made every race and even skipped the NMCA race at Maple Grove.
I raced (and won ) on my daughter's birthday.
I made every effort to "Spice-Up" the Racing Experience.
I wrote every 10.50 article with an unbiased perspective for others. (not for me, I lived it)
I spent big money (I didn't have) to get the car back on track after it broke.
I did my very best to drive around a problem I couldn't fix.
I put everything I had into this series, in my Rookie year.
But, I fell short of my goal.
So NO! I am not happy I came in Second.
Second Sucks and if you finished Second or worse You Suck too!
Here is an LOL for every CC Champ reading this.

I spent big money (I didn't have) to get the car back on track after it broke.
At that point I even had the gall to ask Marc to borrow his car for those precious 'tech in/first round start' points even though I knew he cherishes his beautiful C6 so much.
I did my very best to drive around a problem I couldn't fix.
