That's a shame, but not totally unexpected

I am sure if the other fast vettes still want to face off for a few rounds we could find something for fun and for cookies. It just won't be the same without "Dave vs Dave" over and over and over.

Time to look around and see where else we can play. Hopefully something in the CC has an opening for a poor waxer with a relatively quick car - maybe not for points, but for fun (who knows)

Some extra time may also allow us to branch out a bit and check out some other venues (when we can get away). Can't do the Friday night events 'cause we both work... But will keep our eyes open.

Gotta' keep working on it and improvin' so that someday when Mike lines up with me, I can take him down like all those before him

Peace sells, but who's buying?

Yup, it wont be the same without a "fast" class, not that the 10.5 is not fast, you know what I mean. But no car count is no car count, kind of depressing.. onto new venues.

I guess we'll have to take our blowers off & run NMCA Modern EFI next year.

That don't work Pete

9.90 - you need a full cage, etc. (might as well run 9.50 or faster)

10.90- needs a roll bar (might as well stay with 10.50)

11.90- would work ( but 11.50 is so popular )

Mixed Index: 9.50/10.50, 400 tree, deep staging allowed

P.S. I would actually race in that (I just doubt others would like it)

YES a person can run into the 6's and run brackets.... & I was going to keep this a secret, but I hit the # and made a Nice bunch of $$

Now you guys look at NHRA "Pro Stock" look at how consistent those cars run... 6.88, 6.86, 6.87... run after run, & they are 5 speed manual (Liberty Trans) cars... well I bought an Ex Larry Morgan Pro Stock, and am putting a Vette Body on it instead of the one he was using ....Those Pro Stock Cars are more consistent than many "Bracket Cars"

Watch me run a string of 6.8x next year

Good, He needs it!

You guys are missing another option...

Find a new title sponsor before it is too late.
It doesn't have to be a performance shop or even car related.
If you want the class that bad, you might have to work a little for it.
Edgar doesn't have unlimited time to find sponsors.

Next you need to get commitments from people that will actually show up.
I am sure RP will want names to some degree?
You can't just walk in there and say you have XX amount of cars for the class.
They aren't stupid. The car count was dismal in 2010.

As you know...Money talks.

Our "slow" 10.50 class has sponsors, but we also have plenty of racers.

Steve is right, I think that if you really try and start now you could round up enough sponsors to run the class again. However, there needs to be a consensus among the drivers / participants on where to set the index and how many events. It might be good to cut the events back a little in this class since its quite an undertaking to keep the cars together for a season. Perhaps from 10 to 7, just my .02

Question-

Is there a write-up of the Oct. 30, 2010 9.50 Index Race

I don't remember reading one.

I made it clear to Edgar that we do more then our share already, so we (ECS) are not coming out of pocket for anymore then we do already. (I could have a nice used C6 for what we have sponsored the CC over the years)

I have more or less handed over new sponsors and it went no where, I'm willing to work with that, help me help us.

I will be at PRI in a few weeks, and if someone can get a straight forward protocall for new sponsorship, I'll see what I can do. Regardless though, we need an aproximate car count, and I only know of a handful of cars. So sponsors or not, I dont know if we have enough dedicated cars.
