Default 3.07 to 3.54 Gains?

Just made the Dana 36 to 44 swap with 3.54 gears. I know several of you have had to make this swap, what gains have been seen in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile.

With your set-up... I don't know... but show me your torque curve and I can probably make a fairly close guess.

With TPI motors the et improvement from 3.07 to 3.54 is very little if any. I think some have picked up a bit if they were running the stock torque converter. If you were already running a good converter, the gain is minimal at best.

However, those flat torque curved rev happy LT-1, LS-1 and most carb motors love it and would probably pick-up 1-2 tenths.

I went from 3.07 to 3.45 and improved "zero"...... I cryed. :cry

good luck

i like beach saw very little gain, but your car is obviously a bit different. I do however like the 3.45s drivability on the street more than the 3.07s. I think those twin turbos might like a little extra gear....let us know how you make out

I really liked the 3.07s but the car needs to be shifted into overdrive at the end of the 1/4. I was running through the lights at the other end at 5800 rpms( in drive) and its just not making power up there. I was thinking the 3.45s might let me get the car into overdrive and back into rpm range where the car will pull. Might not work but I guess its worth a try anyway.

Out of courisioty how many of those 1.5's 60 ft times were run on that dana 36. The reason I ask, I heard that they come apart way before that.

Sounds like you might have gone in the wrong direction. A 273 gear would've kept your rpms down a little more at the stripe, rather than having to shift into OD.

I would really have to go back and count time slips, i would have to say 6 or 8 sub 1.6 passes. I have to leave at a dead idle or is spins way too bad.
