Need for new gears.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to a Dana36 to give it a little more durability? I am going to have 3.73s installed as recommended by my engine builder. I know there is something (s) I can do to beef it up while I have the new gears installed. I know a dana 44 is the best way to go but I wont be at the track every weekend and don't think the cost and effort of changing the whole rear assem. is worth it ... Or is it?

With a stock motor my 93's Dana 36 lasted about 50 passes at the drag strip...some last 3 years while other last 5 minutes...remember, the more power you put to it the faster it will break and the better the hook makes it break even that much quicker...
By the time you spend the money to beef up a 36 you will be better off just putting in a 44 with 3:73's...I ran that combo for over 1,000 passes and drove the car as my daily driver with no issues....
You cannot use 3:73's out of a 36 in a 44, btw....44's come with 3:42 gears stock so that may be enough for you...I did not care for them and put in 73's in my 44 within a month...
