Default Question for C4 Vette Drag Racers ...

What is the fastest 1/4 ET and mph run by a 92 LT1 Vette A4 without using nitrous or forced induction? Maybe I'm asking who has the fastest stock induction C4 / A4 in the country?

I wouldn't be surprised if an NHRA SS racer has run in the 9s with one... Maybe not, but most certainly in the 10s.

Yes, a few stock eliminator LT-1's have gone low 10's, LT-4 high 9's and L98 high 10's. No one to my knowledge has been dumb enough to try a crossfire

Just remember. NHRA stockers have stock throttle body, intake, imported heads, stock lift camshafts, and stock spec short block.

Greg Rowe has one of the baddest LT1 stockers in the country and it's capable of 10.60's - that's over .5 sec under the index in B/SA.

His father Bud has a 91 Corvette stocker (L98) that runs in G/SA.. 11.0's and nearly 1.0 seconds under the index.

As stated stock induction, unported heads, stock lift camshafts and short blocks that have to use NHRA/IHRA approved "stock replacement" parts.

How did they manage to run those kind of ETs with stock LT1 motors? They must be friggin' geniuses!!!

Note he didn't say anything about stock cam duration... and I'm guessing they have a super loose stall and steep gears and well set up suspensions.

Joe-g your correct. Don't think they are totally showroom stock.
A bunch of time and money is spent. Considering NHRA rules,it
is amazing on how fast they are. With the "stock bullprinted cams, pistons, heads".

NHRA and IHRA Stock Eliminators are far from "factory stock".

The engine is just a small part of what makes them as fast as they are. But they serve as a stark reminder for people with heavily modified cars as to just how bad the rest of their combo is.... because it's not all about the HP.

Hundreds of guys on here with 600-700hp turbocharged and supercharged cars running mid 11's.... and slower.

Jimmy Hidalgo has been 10.70's in G/SA with the L98. And that stock intake L98 turns 7000 rpm.

There is one LT-4 stocker that has almost hit the 9's.

Allen Sherman's LS1 C5 stocker will go high 9's
