Tallest Tire In A C5 Wheel Well
Anyone know what the tallest tire you can put in a C5 wheel well without minitubs? Will be getting new tires/wheels next year and want to get at least a 28". My current MT ET Street 26x11.5-17 are like 3 years old and I want something bigger lol.
Oh, I want to keep with a DOT tire for the street car classes I want to run.
Right now I am looking at the Hoosier 28 X 14.50-16 or 28 X 11.50-16 or the M&H 30/14.0-16LT

Really depends on trap speed and tire growth. With no fender lines and stock ride height, a lot of people can run 28" tires with 140 MPH or less speed. At a chance of running a 30" without serious tubbing.

Does Mickey Thompson still make the 26x11.5x17 ET Streets? I was looking into them for next year since my car is lowered and I'm not sure if Hoosier 28x10x17 will fit in my wheel well.

Here's mine on a 295/50/16...
It does have an LPE minitub kit but that's for the street setup (345's) so it has no usefulness with my track setup. The car does have a C6 rear cradle in it which moves the axle centerline backwards in the wheel well 1 inch.
Might not help ya a ton, but hey....who knows.

It plugs into the parachute mount that is welded to the rear frame cross brace. Just take the license plate off, undo one large bolt and it slides on/off, same with the chute. Really well designed....but that's what comes out of DMC Racing.

I hope to have my car back in my shop this weekend (weather dependent) and if I do I'll snap a few pics as well. I run a giant 345/??/18 in there on the street and I can tell ya it's taller than my track setup I mentioned above so I think you'll be just fine if you don't go bigger than the 11.5 wide. The track setup is the 295/50/16 with is a 27.70 x 10.50. For reference.
Not sure what your combo is, but people have been plenty fast/quick on the 10.50s and 11.50s.

those are the tires i run on my c5z with the c6 rear suspension. I'm at stock ride height and i was able to keep the fender liners. There was one spot on the drivers side liner that was slightly rubbing. It was slightly pushed out due to my secondary pump behind it.
