Default What could cause this?

Got a call from the guy working on the Vette. He has it on the dyno, he said that after a few pulls on the dyno that the valves are getting noisy. Sounds like that they loosen up. Is that normal? I have a Jesel Shaft Rocker setup. The shaft assembly was removed back in January to change to the bushed lifters, new length pushrods were needed, went from a 6.8 to 8.6 inch, rocker arm alignment was checked. The changed was performed by a mechanic that is a serious racer. It has no run time on the motor after he adjusted the lash and drove out of the shop.

Thanks for your assistance

New valvetrain taking a set under some stress? Recheck the lash and see if, in fact, it loosened up. If so, then reset lash and keep a close eye in it. If it loosens again, I'd start digging deeper.

Changed from 6.800 to 6.800 pushrod lengths? [You types 8.6 to 6.6 but I assume you meant 6.800-6.600.] .200" is a HUGE change somebody goofed really badly on the assembly of the valvetrain. Pushrod lengths come in .050 increments I can see maybe being off .050 but .200? Good luck in tracking down your issue.

Thanks for the response
The pushrod seat height is different.

Left one is the old one, the pushrod seat is at top of lifter. Right one pushrod seat is below link bar. should have taken a picture with the other side showing

Notice the pushrod seat, one is offset, the other is centered

The pushrod seat is inside the body of the lifter.

The height of the link bar location is the important thing.

Adjusted valves and made a few more pulls, no problem from the lifter.
