Loud enough to rattle your internal organs, vibrate your skeleton inside your skin and mix the juice up inside your eyeballs pretty good. At least that's how it feels.

Motorhead is 140 - Top Fuel is 180 (40 apart)
Rolling Stones claim to have the equipment for 176 db from 100 feet away, but I doubt it. Loudest live band was 160 in open air.. and that would be Manowar.

I was at HRP a couple of months ago and a funny car made a pass. It was my first time to see one in person and didnt know what to expect. Words cant explain it. Its flat out loud. They make your body reverberate violently. If you drunk too much water and was holding it just to watch the next race, youd soil yourself. :reddevil

Early in my Safety Safari career, I was pouring VHT mixed about 50/50 with methanol into a container when a pair of fuelers left the line. The large stream of liquid instantly atomized and I wore a whole lot of that stuff. That's the kind of noise energy that those cars emit. I was about 60-70 feet from the cars. I don't pour anything when those cars are running anymore. :lol:
