I am just kinda random posting here, I dont know if you covered it already...

I am wondering how you are firing the plugs? I see the crank trigger but I dont know how they work. It looks like your intake on the blower covers up where the distributer would be. So does this use a coil per cylinder or something?

I am very interested in this topic of crank triggers.

Hmmmm, you started measuring at 3800 and the torque is dropping off from 713! What a beast! Better get some very sticky tires and a very strong tranny...

This is one of the few very interesting on going projects on the forum. I like the stock look "stealth" appearance and almost 700hp/tq waiting to get unleashed! Keep us posted!

Prices? I understand that the blower is about $3500 How much for the injection/computer........

My other question is? Can that manifold be tapped for injectors and run a sequential injection and FAST Computer with a O2 sensor in every primary tube?

I've kind of been looking into it because I have a motor that could be 8.3 compression with 76 cc heads and 20 cc dished pistons

Have you made any more progress on your project? I am curious to see it installed in the car.

Oh, well hey, I better wake up! I thought this thread sort of died so I haven't posted to it in a while.

Crank triggers still require a distributor but not points. There are several crank trigger distributors available, and I had to get a very low profile distributor to fit under the blower. You can see the black wires coming off it from the right in my second picture on the first page. The crank trigger takes the place of points and is much more precise.

For everyone else, I'm currently working on the fuel system and other boring engine compartment things before installing the engine. I'm adding a sump to the tank and running the lines, etc. It's taken longer than I had wanted since I lost my contract in January and had to spend time looking for new work. I'm settled in now and work will continue. I will post pics as work progresses. (Anyone ever run 3 inch exhaust under the car??)

As I remember, the computer, harness and software was about $800, but I also sprung for a heated wide-band O2 system - $250 or so. The injection throttle body added another grand.

I discussed direct injection with Whipple and thought I would be tapping the manifold as you mentioned. Although you could probably do it, they talked me out of it. Their research points to better performance when the mixture is compressed (better mixing??). Also, the fuel pressure doesn't need to be so high. I'd be pushing the limits of the pump at about 70lb at my current rate.
