Now that winston is out, anyone wanna guess who will backfill. My guesses are Anhiezer-Busch or Goodyear.

Have at it............

Gotta be a beer company... or a tool company.

Did you also hear that the NHRA just dropped the Pro-Stock Truck series too... they have been demoted to running 17 events in the Federal Mogul series. They felt they had 1 too many series.... I wonder if John Lingenfelter is going to still race in the series.

Its too bad, they were my favorites to be honest.

cheers,

Thumper,

The tobacco companies per an agreement with the goverment can only advertise with one group that becomes effect in 2002. They chose the much more lucrative NASCAR.

Ahh that's right. Nascar is definately getting more popular lately. Definately a beer company. Budweiser would be my first choice or Napa

The makers of Jack Danials just tried to set up a sponsorship deal with NASCAR and were turned down for looking like they were promoting drinking and driving. It would not surprize me to see them on the NHRAs doorstep.

Considering the investment, some seem to think it will be sponsorship by committee from now on.

I think it is said that Winston's total marketing investment with the NHRA was 10-15 million dollars per year, and that over the long haul they have paid more than 27 million dollars in bonus's. Thats some serious dough.

Read the below article... its very well written and seems to cover all aspects of this subject.

Also for a brief interesting article on the demotion of the Pro Stock Truck series, read this article.

As long as UPS stays out of it. They started up with NASCAR and I don't get **** out of it.
I wouldn't mind if I were able to get a suite for all the races.

Beach, my sources tell me NHRA wants out of everything but the 3 pro categories
To then sportsman racing is a waste of their track time. Sportsmen will only race on a local level like points races. National events will be back filled with the host track own weekly racers. Less tech, less payout and more time for folks to go buy hotdogs.

I've heard that NHRA was "testing the waters" with "Pro Mod" They sure draw more people to the stands than Pro Stock Truck, & IHRA will be more of a "Sportsman" body, & NHRA will cater to the Pros.. and use little guys (Quick 8, etc.) as fill ins.

They (NHRA) have been running a lot of exibition Pro Mods in the last year..???
