Default A nube type question

I've been watching videos of old muscle cars etc and was wondering what makes it possible today for us to take the same engines from then and get so much more power from them than what was possible back then.

Engine management, precision of modern fuel injection, head design. I'm sure that others will chime in.

Technology and Advancement. Other then slapping on superchargers and turbos what makes alot of diff. now is higher compression motors aided with better engine management computers, improvement of emissions like gain of O2 sensors and loss of EGR systems, weight of the engines and material used, fuel and air system improvements, VVT, and many other factors
