Does anyone know if the front cross flag badge on the hood has alignment pins on a 2023 C8 or is it just self adhesive? In other words if I remove it, will there be alignment pin holes?

Thanks!

I've been through several SD cards, including Sandisk Extreme Plus 190Mb/s 128GB v30. The Dr will just stop recording whenever it feels like it. Is there any permanent solution to this yet?

Mine is set to record as a dashcam.
Set to overwrite old files.

I went on a drive today and stopped three times.
First segment recorded the entire drive
Second segment recorded the first 60% of the drive
3rd segment recorded the entire drive

I really wanted that whole 2nd segment recorded. I am so *expletive* tired of this PDR failing all the time. There has to be a solid solution by now.

Bought my 1st NEW Vette last year, from MacMulkin, 25 Z51 coupe. I had a vision of what I wanted it to eventually look like, called it "Classy/Performance". 2LT, loaded, 2 tone interior, front lift, mag ride, etc. etc.
Had my ACS front splitter b/4 delivery, added clear top with custom painted body color sides, side windows tinted 25% ceramic, ACS side skirts, ACS license plate frame, OEM high wing, custom designed Forgeline 3 piece wheels from CWFL, Gerry recommended adding 1/2" to the front wheels to 19x9 and custom offsets, he was right!, full front PPF, body graphene coated, OEM jake hood decal, Carbon flash splash guards, some engine dress up but more to come, friggin mod bug.....Leaving power train alone till 3 yr warranty is up. Most of us do something to make it our own, I'm pretty happy the way it's turned out. Had a 19 GS, great car but the deals were too good last year and Costco's 3K coupon put me over the edge. Loved my 03 50th Anniversary Edition, AE Red with shale interior, had that 13 yrs, still miss that C5...
Of course NOW they come out with the C8 GS but still happy w/the Z51. It's a keeper for the foreseeable future...
PS, the outer rim on the wheels appears bluish in some pics, actually dark pearl black/gray but changes in the light and reflects the blue from the sky...centers are smoke, barrels black.

I used to be active here 15-20 years ago (StealthZ06). I'm back because my 2023 C8 has been grounded at a local DFW dealership for two weeks with a coolant loss/overheating issue, and the service department is feeding me a narrative that goes against what I know of this car.

Breakdown & Diagnostics:
Cruising at 70 mph, got a sudden "Engine Overheating Idle Engine" warning on the HUD. Looked down and it was at 261 degrees.
Coolant is actively pooling in the engine valley (the "V").
The service manager performed some testing:

Coolant pressure testing - a drop in overnight pressure was observed each time they hooked it up, however they cannot find where the coolant is going (no apparent leaks, or sources)

Compression and leakdown - I was told these came back okay, but he didn't share any info beyond this

Borescope - camera showed that two cylinders are "cleaner than expected." I'm no mechanic, but from what I know in engine diagnostics, a "cleaner than expected" piston head is the textbook definition of steam-cleaning from a coolant leak. They also observed some pooling in the valley between cylinders 4&5, but not as much as expected.

Dealer’s Story:
Despite the steam-cleaned cylinders, the service manager explicitly told me they are "looking at a porosity leak on the intake manifold itself, not the engine."

My thoughts/sanity check:
The LT2 intake manifold is 100% molded composite plastic. Plastic cannot have aluminum "casting porosity."
The LT2 manifold is completely dry. Zero coolant routes through it; it only processes air.

If coolant is pooling in the valley and washing out two combustion chambers, it physically has to be a casting defect in the aluminum cylinder heads or the engine block itself.

There is an active GM TAC case, but the shop sat on the car for a week before touching it, and GM Executive Care just quoted me a 4-business-day callback window. I'm convinced the dealer is just throwing out nonsense to buy time because they are overloaded and terrified of a full warranty engine swap.

My Questions:
Has anyone dealt with a confirmed casting porosity issue on the LT2 block or heads?
How heavily does corporate TAC override a local dealer's diagnosis once the raw telemetry and borescope photos are uploaded?

I’m hoping GM Engineering audits the TAC file next week and rejects this "plastic manifold" patch-job. Any advice on pushing this through corporate would be appreciated.

I think the new LS6 engine is a very rare automotive event. Historic in fact! I plan to take full advantage, waiting for my build date for a 27 Stingray. Take the 13 to 1 compression ratio. Its a standard hot rod move. Everyone knows the benefits. Everyone has known forever that you need more than pump gas to use it. The Corvette team said we want to use it so lets work on the octane problem and find a way for pump gas to work. And they did! Why did the bean counters let them do it? It cost money to find the answer and will cost money in production on going. They could have told them to make due with a lower number. I think the $billion problem that is the 6.2 engine is paved the way to produce the best product they could despite the cost.

I'm looking at buying a replacement for my stingray. Found a perfect one EXCEPT the previous owner paid the $$ override to get red seat bolsters. I'm not digging them. Are there any VERY NICE seat covers that will hide these but still look somewhat factory and dont move around? I'm guessing having these recovered in black will cost a small fortune.
This is the lowest, strongest, safest billet seat mount available for the Corvette. It will put your seat on the floor if needed. Using this mount with the Sparco QRT-R seat I gained almost 2 inches of head room over MTI rails with a Sparco EVO. Our integrated sub belt takes the guess work out of installing your 5 or 6 point harness. Not only that but it will survive an 85G mostly-rear impact. We offer 4 different sizes of wheel spacers. Our 1/4" spacer uses the lip of the stock hub for centering and can be used with stock length studs. Our 3/8" spacer pushes the wheel out a smidge further but the ring on the hub is no longer effective. We recommend going to the 2.5" ARP studs if you're using a 3/8" spacer. We also offer 3/4" and 1" spacers with a machined lip for centering. These spacers should use the 3.25" ARP studs.
These mounts are now on their third variation and better than ever. A single bolt keeps your motor from moving fore and aft, while vulcanized rubber dampens the vibrations so they're not as harsh as solid mounts. We now use a hard anodized 6061 center section to keep the 2 rubber pucks in each assembly where they belong. Make no mistake these mounts do not feel like the pillowy soft oil-filled gushiness of the stock mounts. You are definitely going to feel more of the engine with these mounts, but your 350 lbs lump of a motor will not be moving all over your engine bay either when performance driving.
After selling a different product for a number of years, we've decided to start making our own version of adjustable toe links for all C7 Corvettes. The previous product had fitment issues with various parts and quality issues with the heim joints. Trying to work with the supplier to correct the issues wasn't getting anywhere, so in order to best serve our customer base, we came up with the AMT Motorsport M-80 Toe Links which use 7075 aluminum, 17-4 PH pins, and FK Heim Joints for the strongest and longest lasting toe links on the market.

I have a 22 C8 with about 8000 miles. All the trans maintenance has been done at the appropriate time or milage intervals (fluid change and filter replacement). However I seem to notice when idling out of my garage, as I ease out then give it a little gas, it seems to rev a little before it fully grabs. Kind of like my childhood go-kart with a centrifugal clutch. I do not recall feeling this sensation previously, it seems new or more pronounced if not noticed before. It seems to function fine while driving and all else seems fine. Is this normal?

I recently traded my '23 Stingray for a '26. I love the new dash and interior, but one of my favorite features is gone! It was always exciting to see the see through Corvette in the binnacle when you entered the car. I like seeing the Corvette name on the screen, but can't the engineers give us something better? This calls for an OTA update. Maybe we'll all be surprised someday when we get in our Stingray and see a new animation.
