I have Corbeau Evolution X seats on my 05 using 3pt belts and they are great on the street and in autoX. I am looking to get into HPDE's (SCCA TNiA events) and want to get a better seat, looking for an FIA approved version and 5/6pt harness to boot. I know the evo X were designed to fit the tight confines of C5's and C6's and they do fit tightly so I am concerned about getting a seat and finding it doesn't fit the car. I looked at the "will this seat fit" thread which is great but didn't find what I was looking for.

I'm 6', 210 with a 34" waist. I do not know of a seat dealer in my area to "try them on" so worst case I return.

I've been looking at the following but can't find solid info on C6 fitment and was hoping people here have experience with one of them.

Racequip Composite- Fiberglass in 3 sizes
Momo Start- Fiberglass
Sparco Sprint- Steel tube
OMP TRS-E- steel tube
OMP TRS-X- steel tube
Cobra Monaco Pro- steel tube
Pyrotect sport- Fiberglass
Others??

Anybody have these in their C6 and can comment on mounting, fitment and comfort?

This is the lowest, strongest, safest billet seat mount available for the Corvette. It will put your seat on the floor if needed. Using this mount with the Sparco QRT-R seat I gained almost 2 inches of head room over MTI rails with a Sparco EVO. Our integrated sub belt takes the guess work out of installing your 5 or 6 point harness. Not only that but it will survive an 85G mostly-rear impact. This seat mount saved my life and it can save yours too - just hope you never need to find out!
Our 3/8" spacer pushes the wheel out a smidge further but the ring on the hub is no longer effective. We recommend going to the 2.5" ARP studs if you're using a 3/8" spacer. These mounts are now on their third variation and better than ever. A single bolt keeps your motor from moving fore and aft, while vulcanized rubber dampens the vibrations so they're not as harsh as solid mounts. We now use a hard anodized 6061 center section to keep the 2 rubber pucks in each assembly where they belong. Make no mistake these mounts do not feel like the pillowy soft oil-filled gushiness of the stock mounts. You are definitely going to feel more of the engine with these mounts, but your 350 lbs lump of a motor will not be moving all over your engine bay either when performance driving.
After selling a different product for a number of years, we've decided to start making our own version of adjustable toe links for all C7 Corvettes. The previous product had fitment issues with various parts and quality issues with the heim joints. Trying to work with the supplier to correct the issues wasn't getting anywhere, so in order to best serve our customer base, we came up with the AMT Motorsport M-80 Toe Links which use 7075 aluminum, 17-4 PH pins, and FK Heim Joints for the strongest and longest lasting toe links on the market.

The addition of the V09 radiator has made a tremendous difference in keeping both oil and coolant temps in control on the track. Prior to the addition, my oil temps would creep up into the high 240's and coolant temps would hit mid 230's. On long sessions this became an issue as the car did not appreciate those temps and I experienced reduction in power as well as some odd transmission shiftng behaviour (wouldn't down shift). Post installation using all GM parts, oil temps were 20-25 degrees cooler tracking coolant temps within about 5 degrees. Transmission temps stayed lower and stable throughout the sessions. On the street, oil temps run 30 degrees cooler than the coolant temperature whereas before they essentially tracked each other equally. It's the best "performance" mod i've done the the car outside of track tires and rims.

The original thread that got me aware of the mod is here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...a-v09-mod.html

Tips on install using the OEM parts here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-install.html

Hope this helps if you're dealing with fluid temps that creep too high.

Long story short, I am thinking to get my manual C7GS out for a HPDE event in August at Mid Ohio for my father in law to drive. There is a loose plan to give him "one last go" racing a car and since his '67 is too twitchy and cable driven clutch is too hard for him to drive (5.25" race clutch). He is able to drive my C7 stock clutch around backroads and he had a blast having not driven his own in years due to health issues.

My father in law and brother in law have been avid road racers at Mid Ohio for the past 20 years or so. I have never been on a track (only autocross for the last 5 years or so) mostly due to expense vs an autocross, but if this is really the "last chance" for my father in law to race, I'd like to see if we can give that to him.

Car is C6 GS manual
15k mi stock clutch/brakes/stock alignment
headers/tune/e85 makes 430/430
Apex 18x11 315 front and 18x12.5 335 rear Bridgestone RE71RZ tires bought new for this season and will have maybe 4-5 autocross events on them by the time this event happens.

My initial thought is obviously bleeding clutch (as much as I can) and brakes to replace with better fluid, replace trans and diff fluids and toss a set of pads in it.

I bought the car with some PowerStop Z26 pads since the original owner didn't like the brake dust from OEM pads. Open to recommendations on some pads to use.

Anything else worth lookin into?

How has your track-car ownership experience been with your C5?

Did the "Cheap track car" idea prove to be a myth all said and done? How much wrenching do you end up doing on a regular basis? Do you constantly have old car problems? Are the ABS and overheating issues overblown online?

I have a C7GS which is obviously amazing but I'm looking at swapping to something cheaper for track duty.

I don't mind wrenching at all, I kind of enjoy it, but I don't want to have to work on a track car before/after every event either.

I'm looking for feedback on this idea and sanity checks on if I'm going to regret it

Hello, I have a C7 GS 7-speed I use almost exclusively for track/HPDE. I've already upgraded brakes to AP racing, Apex wheels, 200tw tires and have an aggressive track alignment. I'm looking to add more power reliably to the car while keeping it N/A, and drivable on the street. Also looking to solve an issue with the transmission tunnel getting very hot during track sessions. I don't need ultimate power, but rather more top end since I am finding myself using top of 3rd often on the track.

I spoke to a local engine tuner and this is what they recommended. We have a high local labor cost ($200/hr) and a high sales tax in WA state. My question is: does this look reasonable for what I'm trying to do?

[Apologies if this is posted in the wrong location]
As it happens, I am now the proud owner of a rolled 1986 C4 convertible. It still runs and drives, but has incurred a moderate amount of body damage including the driver's side A-pillar and doors. It seems to me that the car really may not be worth fixing back to street quality, but will make an excellent parts car. However, in my pondering the predicament, it occurred to me that since all the fenders have been beaten up by boulders it might be a great opportunity to try cutting out the fender wells and putting truck tires on the car. Events like the Gambler 500 come to mind.

I fully understand that this is sacrilegious, but it feels like a worthy project for a corvette that would otherwise be totaled. It can then live on as my mobility buggy around the plant where I work, or as a donor car for my next daily driver corvette.

Has anyone here experimented with building a dirt road vette? If so, what did you learn? Where would be some good places to go for information?

Is there a clean and simple way to have a manual exterior door release on a C6?
Im removing the electric switch(s) in the door. And need a way to open the door from the outside in case the driver is unable to. I'm leaving the manual interior release(s) on the floor in their stock locations.

CORVETTE RACING AT SPA: Double-Points Heading to Le Mans

TF Sport battles through tough LMGT3 battles to finish in top-10

STAVELOT, Belgium (May 9, 2026) – TF Sport’s two Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.Rs finished in the points and grabbed a dose of momentum ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a pair of top-10 finishes in Saturday’s Six Hours of Spa.

The team’s No. 33 Corvette of Nicky Catsburg, Jonny Edgar and Blake McDonald drove from outside the top-10 to eighth place in LMGT3 at the end of the FIA World Endurance Championship’s wild second round at Spa-Francorchamps. It followed a season-opening, runner-up finish at Imola in the first race together for the trio.

They were just one spot ahead of the Racing Team Turkey by TF Corvette of Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yoluc and Peter Dempsey. Eastwood crossed the finish line fifth in class but the No. 34 had 10 seconds added to its race time for an infringement during the car’s next-to-last pit stop.

The early parts of the race – including the two Corvettes’ starting positions – mirrored the team’s start at Imola in the season’s opening round. Yoluc was the biggest mover as he gained five positions in the opening half-lap to go from 10th to fifth in the No. 34 Corvette. It was even more impressive that Yoluc drove the first stint on used tires as the team played strategy from the very beginning.

Meanwhile McDonald raced his way from 14th and into ninth after his first stop. He climbed as high as sixth before the No. 33 had to serve a drive-through penalty. The two Corvettes made their second stops one lap after each other just prior to the two-mark with Dempsey relieving Yoluc and Edgar taking over for McDonald.

The middle two hours of the race were fairly uneventful as both Corvettes ran in the top-10 and in points-scoring position when a safety car period with a little more than two hours left reset things. All of the LMGT3 cars stopped on the same lap with Eastwood and Catsburg both getting into their respective Corvettes for the final two stints – Eastwood in sixth and Catsburg in ninth. Unfortunately the Racing Team Turkey entry received a 10-second, post-race penalty for an infraction during the stop.

Another safety car neutralized the pack with an hour to go. Eastwood made the No. 34’s last stop with 56 minutes left for tires and fuel from fifth, and Catsburg pitted a lap later for the same with Edgar back in for the final run to the finish.

TF Sport’s next race in the FIA WEC is the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 13-14.

CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R POST-RACE DRIVER QUOTES

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 33 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "A short and unexpected stint. I got three track limits on one of the restarts in a row. It's a bit risky to continue and get another penalty. We already had a penalty early on in the race and didn't want to get another one. Jonny was the right man for the job. He did great today and at the end. We got away with some unexpected points, I would say, which is good where we had a lot of weight. So to get away with points is good. We just need to focus forward and take it from there."

JONNY EDGAR, NO. 33 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "It was quite a fun last stint with the safety car restarts. It was hard to make positions as I had some understeer following cars because we had some damage to a diveplane. In the end we seemed quite OK. The car was better at the end than the middle which is good. I enjoyed driving at the end full-push for the last 30 minutes trying to hold on to positions and trying to make some up. Happy to score points with the pace we had. We did a good job to finish eighth because it could have very easily been zero. So I'm happy."

(Opening stint) "It didn't feel too bad. Our car doesn't have quite as much as pace Imola so it's been a more difficult race. It was quite a lonely stint. I only saw one other my car in my class so I was trying to make no mistakes and no penalties to keep the car in one piece. We were hoping for a safety car to pack the field up, which we got. I think this track is hard with the Hypercar and GT3 speed difference in some places. There also are some places where there's a lot of gravel on the track so you can't go side by side. It was easy to lose a lot of time if you got overtaken in the wrong place. Some of the Hypercars are very aggressive, especially when they are close to each other and fighting for position."

BLAKE McDONALD, NO. 33 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "I got off to a half-decent start and then was in a fight with one of the Mercs and the Porsche for a good portion of it. Track limits was a tough thing to manage and ended up getting five, and that was just enough to get us a penalty so that dropped us back. An anti-stall issue kicked in at one point and lost us a couple of spots but nowhere near as much time as the drive-through. It definitely wasn't we wanted to do but it was a ton of fun though. The car turned out to be pretty decent and pretty competitive against some of the others."

(On Hypercar traffic) "The majority of the time it isn't an issue at all. It's maybe one of out of 10 times that puts you in a (bad) situation where you are super compromised. Here some of the speed differentials mean you just get swamped from the cars you're competing against. One of the track limits was exactly that when I got pushed into the marbles by a Hypercar then was side by side with one of the McLarens in Blanchimont and got a track limits there. The majority of the time it's pretty easy because most of them are very respectful in how they do it and make it super easy by just waiting for a straight and checking out. Then none of us lose too much time, but here and there they are a little aggressive."

CHARLIE EASTWOOD, NO. 34 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "It didn't feel like an uneventful run! It was just busy at the front the whole time and kind of always in a bit of a train. It seemed harder than probably everyone expected to pass but I was able to manage with the sort of front gap. Unfortunately we got the pitstop infringement which we couldn't serve because everyone boxed under VSC and had to take it at the end of the race to drop us to P9. That was a shame, for sure. A P5 or P4 would have been a decent result. All in all, we executed a pretty solid weekend. The Corvette was fast and now we get ready for the big one."

(On the final hour) "Eau Rouge is just one of those corners. I think it's because all the GTs were in a train battling and all the Hypercars were in a train battling, so that's when you're always going to get caught up. To be honest a lot of the GTs defend quite heavily when they are on defense against another GT car, and that's when crashes happen."

SALIH YOLUC, NO. 34 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "I think the start was just being opportunistic with what was going on ahead of me. I found some space to move up the order. And it felt nice in the car as well. The traffic wasn't too bad. The Hypercars were behaving much better today, if I'm honest, than Imola. We didn't have any issues in the traffic. The issue was much more the tire deg than anything. I don't think we have the ultimate pace of the cars in front of us like the Ford and Ferrari who are in another league. We did our best. There is just no grip there. Ten laps are OK but the rest are quite a lot of trying to survive."

PETER DEMPSEY, NO. 34 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "It was pretty good. Obviously I was lacking a lot of laps since Thursday; missing FP3 hurt us a little bit in race laps for me and Charlie. But we gained with Salih getting those laps in. It took me a little while setting into a rhythm. The first stint was me making a few mistakes but once I settled in the pace was pretty good. Then a big improvement in the second stint and stayed in the same position and status quo with where we were. I was able to hand off the car off to Charlie with no damage, which was the plan."

Need a little guidance from the group please.
This is for a dedicated track car
I want to install a quick release hub onto my stock steering column in my C6. I plan on eliminating the turn signal and wiper stalks. I'd like to retain the tilt and other column adjustability.
I'll using a aftermarket steering wheel and losing the airbag. What is the preferred way to go about this? Is there a bolt on adapter for the splined column to QD hub?
Any help is appreciated

CORVETTE RACING AT LAGUNA SECA: P2 Finish and Championship Lead

Milner, Catsburg take runner-up in GTD PRO; Chevrolet and No. 4 team take title leads

MONTEREY, Calif. (May 3, 2026) – Nicky Catsburg and Tommy Milner raced from eighth at the start to second in GTD PRO at the end of Sunday’s Monterey SportsCar Championship at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca – a result that proved important for the early-season IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship standings.

With the second straight podium finish for the No. 4 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, the pairing moved into the lead of the Drivers Championship after three races, as did Chevrolet in the Manufacturers standings. The No. 4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports team made a strategic call early in the race stand up to move into first in Teams points, as well.

Milner and Garcia bettered their third-place result from the most recent GTD PRO race at Sebring and finished on the Monterey podium for the second time in three years.

The No. 3 Corvette of Antonio Garcia and Alexander Sims placed fourth in class and just off the podium after a late-race push for what they were hoping would be their first victory in defense of the 2025 GTD PRO championship.

The two GTD PRO Corvettes went on a split strategy early in the race. Milner, who started eighth, hit the pitlane first just after the 30-minute mark following a couple rounds of contact on the opening laps. Contact came from both GTD PRO and GTD competitors, and the No. 4 Corvette lost pace for a short bit coming down the hill but without lasting impact.

Catsburg went the rest of the way and moved into the race lead just past the one-hour mark as the class leaders went deep into their first fuel stint. The race’s full-course yellow flew 10 minutes later when 13 Autosport’s No. 13 Corvette of Matt Bell and Orey Fidani pulled off-track with a mechanical issue that resulted in the team’s retirement from the race.

The entire GTD PRO field stopped during the safety car period, which shuffled back the No. 4 but elevated the No. 3 and others who needed a shorter fuel stop. Catsburg made his final stop with an hour to go with the team making sure the Corvette could make it to the end of the race.

Sims, who took over Garcia during the No. 3’s first stop, stayed out along with four other GTD PRO cars that tried to save fuel and with hopes for another yellow to allow them to make the end. Sims did gain a position late in the race to move into second before the four lead cars all stopped inside the final five minutes.

Elsewhere in the GTD class, the No. 81 DragonSpeed Corvette of Henrik Hedman and Giacomo Altoé had their best run and result of the season with a 11th-place finish. After suffering contact and incidents in the first three races, the DragonSpeed team finally enjoyed a clean race heading into a long break for the GTD class until June.

The next race in IMSA for the Corvette Z06 GT3.R program is the Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic on the streets of Detroit on Saturday, May 30.

CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R POST-RACE DRIVER QUOTES

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "You plan for lots of different options and opportunities and things like that. And obviously today, starting where we started and with the start of the race that I had, it was pretty clear that we were gonna go pretty far off-strategy, as most cars in this class do. If you're not up front, you try something different to see if it's going to work out for you. Today it worked out very well for us. At times it didn't look very good. Then it looked okay, and then maybe not so good, and then it went back in our favor at the end there. I'm really, really proud of the Corvette Racing and Pratt Miller team. Nicky drove an absolutely amazing race. Really no mistakes. He drove it as hard as he could, which is what he had to do. The margins here are so slim. To have the race that we had at the start and then to claw it all back at the end certainly feels good. It's a good example of you never, never give up and always try to maximize whatever you have. Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. Today it kind of went in our favor."

NICKY CATSBURG, NO. 4 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "We found the strategy that worked. Well not us as drivers but it was the guys on the pit stand that found the one that worked. We just had to drive around, make no mistakes and we came back with a P2 finish. In some ways it was unexpected, but inside you never know. We always have a good strategy from the team so it's really great. I was hoping I could pass the 65 and I felt like I was a little inconsistent there. Sometimes as soon as you get close, you start making mistakes. So I feel like I need to up my game a little bit there. We could have won, I think, but still P2 is super nice and very good to put us in first for the championship."

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "It was good execution by both our teams. It's a shame we didn't have track position from the start, but it's nice that we have two cars and could cover both strategy scenarios. On our side, we had to fight all the way through because it wasn't easy to pass. I'm glad that as a team we came up with the most points we could. No matter the strategy it would have been P2 regardless of which car. Next time I need a better qualifying effort to be in control of the race. Overall we can be happy as a team."

ALEXANDER SIMS, NO. 3 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "That was really good fun. I think a lot of us were in no-man's land of trying to work out what to do. It was too much of a save to make the end without a yellow but we needed to save because we committed to the strategy. No one wanted to break away from that strategy first and risk a yellow coming up. We were saving quite a lot while still racing really close with each other. We had decent pace and I was really happy with our Corvette. It was working really well, and I think we did a great job with the strategy that we were on. Full credit to the 4 car for making theirs work pretty darn well. Starting the race fifth and eighth, we would have been very happy to settle with second and fourth. I think both of us might feel a little frustrated that we weren't first in our respective battles - me with the 77 and Nicky with the 65 - but nevertheless a decent result and the Manufacturers championship lead."

GIACOMO ALTOE, NO. 81 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R: "For sure the results we are having don't show the effort and quality of the work the team is doing. We have changed a lot and have improved massively since the beginning of the season. This is still only our fourth race with the Corvette and I feel already we are at a high level of performance. We'll keep working to improve even more as a group and a package. The only thing we are missing is some competitiveness to bring home some good results. We'll regroup, hopefully do one or two tests and then be back stronger at Watkins Glen."
