2015 SS Went Boom :( Rebuild?

Well, didn't get to enjoy my SS as long as I anticipated...

Sat for months at the tuner waiting for parts, install, and tune making around 580rwhp on 8 rib LSA boost district supercharger kit with Red Hot cam and full exhaust. Drive home was fine, first drive was fine, second drive after fueling with 93 octane like it's tuned for, blew the internals out the block on the interstate at only 5500rpm. Only 60k miles on the car and ran great before upgrades and the first drive, then kaboom out of nowhere. The tuner said the motor was healthy with good oil pressure during tuning so not sure what caused it as I don't drive past redline. I know we take a gamble with boost regardless but my boosted grandsport has been fine for years with 100 more rwhp than the SS. Only difference is it's a manual other than auto...figured it would've lasted awhile at that level, definitely more than 100 miles of drive time.

Anyway, been looking around at different builds on the forums. Any recommendations for blocks, rotating assemblies from reputable sources or reputable machine shops around the Mooresville, NC area? I'm more familiar with the Ford 4.6 and 5.0 platforms and never had to touch the internals on my C6 base, C5Z, or my C6GS setups so not experienced with internal work for these platforms.

Mustang GT 6 speed

No, it isn't a Corvette. But it is on my short list of cars I am interested in. Since our new house will have ample garage space thinking seriously about buying another car next spring just for summer use. One car on the short list is a new GT Mustang with the 6 speed manual.
Anyone have any seat time with one? Thoughts? Car will never get tracked, just be used for fun and some daily driving when the weather is nice. I Know I can always go with another Corvette but the M6 Mustang intrigues me.

Question, Battery Maintainer Hookup for New Mustang

Just bought a nice used 2024 Mustang GT. Was wondering if anyone else has one and uses a battery maintainer on it? If so, any advice on how to hook one up? I used a male plug in adapter in the accessory port of the right rear hatchback of my former C7. Was very simple and worked great. Does anyone know if maybe the Mustang has a port that can be used in a similar fashion?

Looking to replace my Mazda6 that is only used for bad weather and such (I'm in PA) with something fun. Considering a Focus ST or AWD TBSS as of now, but looking for other suggestions. The 6 sees under 1k miles per year as I work from home so not going to spend a fortune. Also thought about a WRX or STi, but not really wanting to spend $20k ish.

Also, don't want anything tiny as I want to be able to load wheels & tires, etc when needed. So, sadly, things like the Fiesta ST are out.
Don't want anything with high miles or unreliable. AWD preferred, but FWD is ok. No RWD.

I have a 30th AE Miata and Hellcat for fun. Although, the Hellcat is for sale as I drive the Miata a lot more so I'll be replacing that with something else fast, fun & RWD at some point.

EDIT: Out of the cars below, which would folks here choose for a mostly winter driver based on fun factor as well as amenities? (THIS IS NOT A FINAL LIST FYI) I don't want a stripper model if I can avoid it. Would be nice to at least have heated seats & such. Reliability and ease of working on it myself also factor in.

I've had two Sierra's. A '15 Denali and '21 AT4 with 6.2L. Want to swap to something new again. Would consider a AT4X, but want to avoid potential issues with the 6.2L and don't want the 3.0L diesel.

Considering switching to a Raptor. Not sure I want the 6" wider body. Anybody else here go from GMC/Chevro full-size pick-up to Raptor?

Has been garaged its whole life. Rear tires only have 5k miles on them. Fronts are still good, but I will include 2 new front tires w/the car if I don't get them M&B by the time of sale. What car next?

Put the Hellcat up for sale and not sure what to get next. I really would love to replace the Mazda 6 with a fun AWD car like WRX, STi, etc or perhaps an Elantra N. The 6 is my winter & crap weather car so it does not get driven a lot really as I work from home. Should just get a Focus ST to replace the 6 b/c cheap. Far less than 1k miles put on it in the last year.

Another Vette? (I've had a C6, C6Z & blown C5). Is the C7Z market still lol?

Finally buy a 66 or 67 Chevelle? Fine with a "driver", but not after anything I cannot drive away. Goal would be to drop an LS in it.

Try a Porsche? No idea what years & models that aren't $$$$ are worth buying. Then I will worry about maintenance cost and ease of working on it. Warranted?

If it is replacing the 6, it must be AWD or FWD. AWD preferred if I am honest.

If it replaces the Hellcat, and is another toy, I want RWD.

Would love a V10 R8, but even the older ones are lol $ and anything new-ish is out of my budget.

Refurbishment work in 2012 included refinishing the body, replacing the dashboard, carpeting, wiring harness, and chrome components, converting the suspension to a coil-spring setup, and rebuilding the transmission and carburetors. The car is finished in Chamonix White over Light Gray Parisienne cloth and white leather, and is powered by a 365ci V8 linked with a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, power steering, power windows, an Autronic Eye headlight dimming system, a push-button AM radio, a pillarless brushed stainless-steel roof, and dual spotlights. This Eldorado Brougham is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father with an original sales invoice, manufacturer�s literature, service records, spare parts, a shop manual, historical photos, and a clean California title in the name of the owner�s company.

Each Eldorado Brougham featured a hand-assembled body with styling derived from the Orleans and Park Avenue Motorama concepts of 1953 and 1954. The car left the factory finished in Chamonix White, and was refinished and received replacement chrome components in 2012. Additional details include a pillarless brushed stainless-steel roof, quad headlights, rear coach doors, bumper guards, dual spotlights, and rear tail fins.

The 15″ steel wheels feature bright covers and are 235/70 Cooper Lifeliner narrow-whitewall tires. The suspension was converted to a coil-spring setup, and the car is further equipped with power steering.

The cabin houses bench seats upholstered in Light Gray Parisienne cloth and white leather along with a replacement dashboard and carpeting. Amenities include power windows, an Autronic Eye headlight dimming system, a push-button AM radio, and a heater. The air conditioning compressor belt has been removed. Protective plastic covers protect the cloth upholstery.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.

The 365ci V8 was factory equipped with two four-barrel carburetors and was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2006 included rebuilding the carburetors and replacing the wiring harness. The seller notes a misfire.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission that is said to have been rebuilt in 2006.

Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:

This falls under the category of "what does it matter", and a car at a car show got me thinking. The subject is sidepipe exhaust systems on cars. Think of factory built cars, as opposed to custom street rods. For example, Shelby Cobras, which evidently all were factory manufactured with them. Next, to the Corvette world, where they were popular on the C3 cars, either factory option or as a dealer installed item. But that is all the ones I can think of.

Regarding personalization of vehicles, have you ever seen a Mustang with side exhaust? What about a 1963 Thunderbird. One at a car show had been customized with aftermarket wheels, etc., and a side exhaust system. To me, it looked hideous, and ruined the look of a nice classic car. But I realize it is all personal opinion.

Mazda MX-5 as Daily Driver?

Anyone drive one daily? With the fuel prices I'm thinking of getting a fuel efficient car that's also fun to drive and reliable and sounds like the MX-5 ticks all the boxes as long as you're not too tall lol(5'9 here so should be good). I've heard rust and leaks are potential problems(soft top only?)...I understand storage area isn't great but wouldn't be an issue

I know it's not the fastest car but I already have a C6 Z06 to scratch that itch

What year Trans Am is considered the Bandit year - '76 or '77?

From what I understand the cars in the movie were '76 cars with a '77 nose and '77 wheels. So for enthusiast, collector purposes which year is considered the Bandit TA year?
