Had a technician come to the house to confirm diagnosis of master cylinder.
Both rear wheels rotated.
Both front were locked; one solidly, while the other was VERY hard to rotate.
The tech was convinced it was front calipers had failed during the over winter with pistons siezing to the seals.
OK, plausible.
Now try to find big brake calipers.
Only place with stock was Lone Star. However they were powder coated red. But they could ship at once.
O.K. another minor yet tasteful mod.
Calipers arrived. Beautiful!
Tech came back. Jacked left front. Solid lock. Replaced caliper
Jacked right, wheel barely rotated. Replaced caliper.
Rear left turned freely.
Rear right turned freely.
Bled all 4 corners. Fluid dark, but came out with force from each wheel.
Pedal firm once bled even though bled old style.
Started car; strong pedal. Car rolled and stopped but on first stop a HUGE clunk heard and felt, but then all fine. ABS?
Short test drive all good.
Over the next few weeks, moved in and out of garage and all seemed fine.
Might mention to confirm the new master remains on the shelf.
Today. Car show, a few towns away. Car was all prepared so off I go this morning.
All seemed fine for first mile and two stops.
The next mile the car seemed sluggish. Had not warmed it up much and this was the Stabil fuel from last fall.
Before the 2nd mile completed it was now obvious the brakes were dragging.
Made a U turn, headed home.
Of course they got worse. Progessively worse, again was under two miles from home
By the time i made the driveway, you could smell the linings of the pads.
Coming down the drive, smoke.
No brakes.
More smoke.
Rolled onto the lawn, then back onto drive and shutdown.
Flames on both front calipers.
Fire extinguisher was underneath chairs etc., so grabbed hose.
Put out flames, which I could see was the powder coat burning off.
Frightened wife saw flames and called police.
Yes they sent firetruck.
Confirmed my assertion all was nor fine as far a fire.
Thanked them and they and the truck departed.
Hot enough thta a few wheel weights popped off.

OK.
First, what do you thing was initially wrong that obviously returned?
It has braided lines, so we had ruled that out. Was that a mistake?
Master?
ABS ?
No lights until I lost the pedal coming down the drive.
Thoughts?

More inmportanlty what else now is trash?
Pads, Yes?
Rotors? Yes?
Calipers, again as seals must have or will soon fail due to the heat.?
Wheels /Tires?

Noticed some staining in the garage carpet from earlier? In the area slightly ahead of the left rear wheel ABS? lines?
Could that have been the problem.

Now I need to figure out if this has become an insurance claim, but more concerned with figuring this all out first.

Damn and missed supporting the police car show..........................

Brakes have released.
Low pedal, but brakes at end. Car back in garage.

This one has me puzzled.

Carfax report shows multiple “Salvage Title/Certificate Issued,” “Flood Damage Title Issued,” and “Rebuilt Title Issued” entries.
shows 28k miles, although the Carfax report has two “Not Actual Mileage Title Issued” entries in 1998. Total mileage is unknown

The Texas title carries a “Rebuilt Salvage – Loss Unknown Flood Damage” notation under the Remark(s) section
