I've had my C6 Base for a bit over a year now. Im getting new tires. The rear tires on right now are 295/30/19. Took it to the shop to get new tires and they told me my rears are different. Driver side is 19x11 the passenger 19x10! Both Et.79 both look alike. Hows it possible? Is this is okay? Can I keep getting 295/30/19s for both? Been driving around and never noticed any problems.

I recently posted a thread on here asking for yalls opinions on 2 c6s i found for 15k after taking yall's feedback,(thanks so much btw), I decided to not go with any. Here are 2 more I would also like feedback on. Yes I am aware that at 15k I would most likely spend more on repaid and I fine with that as this is meant to be a more fun car that I can drive occasionally and every once in a while take to a track.

1st one is from a dealership in Jacksonville Florida I already spoke to them and they specified they have no other hidden fees/mandatory fees with the purchase. They also allow me to bring in a mechanic for a Pre purchase inspection or to take my car to a nearby place of my choosing. Final Price of this would 15700. Note the dealer also sent me videos of the engine running if that means anything.

2nd One is through a private seller on market place. Says its been sitting for a year only known issues are rear main seal oil leak and that the brakes would need to be replaces soon the total price on this one would be 14500. (also video of the engine running except he doesnt show the engine)

Here is the first listing: Dealership 15700$
Below I will list all the information! 122,000 miles Stainless works full exhaust headers BTR hot rod camshaft trunion upgrade installed After market intake CarPlay radio 3.5 second 0-60 Suspension package All brand new tires Installed a back up camera Rear main seal oil leak! Big bummer and if I had to guess, would take about $700 to fix. Brakes might need to be fixed soon Been in a garage its whole life.

Hello everyone,

A couple of things I wanted to ask about. When driving aggressive on the highway sometimes the car will sputter and jerk really hard usually around 90-120 KM/H. It only happens if I stomp on the gas. After that the service traction system message comes up. Usually after I turn the car off and on again all is well. But this time it threw a p0174 and p0171 code at me that won’t disappear. So my two questions are, has anyone ever else had an experience with the traction control system like that? And secondly ways I can troubleshoot these codes?

any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've scoured the internet, looking for detailed tutorials to wrap dash/DIC pods. I would like to tackle this. I did the radio bezel, which turned out with flaws. Not so bad I can't live with. I may redo it down the road but want to do the pods now. Even with the imperfections, it beats the gaudy silver.
I've found several help posts but not any with any good details on a successful process. I want to complete this with one piece, as opposed to two pieces per pod.
Does anyone have a tutorial to share? I saw one on here that linked to what folks are saying was a good one, but the post is so old the link to the tutorial is no longer available.
Here's a pic of my bezel. I just laid it in place for the picture and will finalize securing tonight.

Hello, looking for some ideas. Wondering if the attached videos showcase a noise that shouldn’t exist. When I bought the car, it was already tuned. It also has long tube headers. Currently running 93 octane, which is what the previous owner said it was tuned for. Is this noise normal? Is it knock?

it also sounds like a sewing machine when driving, but that’s hard to pickup on video. Also curious if you’re supposed to hear that much valve train noise on these cars. I’m a newbie so any information is extremely valuable.

thanks

Thinking about the age of the battery got me wondering if some of the problems I’ve been having with my TPMS Sensors, as well as key fob could be a “low battery voltage” situation causing can bus or GMLAN instability affecting the BCM.

I have an Alpine ILX-207 head unit with a Crux SOCGM-17C. I’m putting it in a 2011 Z06 with Bose Speakers. I know I will need a PAC RP5-GM11 wiring interface to retain my steering wheel controls and a Metra 40-GM10 antenna adapter. I purchased an aftermarket back up camera by Natika WD-011. I’ve read several suggestions on line which hasn’t worked. (The main problem is the rear camera comes on when in reverse but no picture just lines In the back.) I connected the red wire to the light green wire behind the passenger right tail light and the black wire I grounded to a chassis bolt. Then ran the red wire and black wire to the front where the head unit is located. At the head unit I connected the yellow cable to the yellow camera input adapter. Then the red wire connected to the orange/white wire from the Crux 17C. Additional: when I have my ignition on Accessory and shifted into Reverse, my back up lights aren’t coming on but if I start it and put it in reverse the backup lights work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Hi,
I wanted to share how I fixed that issue, maybe it can help someone 😉
2 years ago my airbag light came on, and my scan tool gave me the B0103 dtc : "Front end sensor 2 performance". Not sure what that was meaning 🤔
After some Google search, I found out there was a communication problem with the front end impact sensor, passenger side. Before ordering a new sensor (that thing is not cheap), I swapped the driver side and passenger side sensors, with battery disconnected of course. I deleted the codes and drove the car. The airbag light came on instantly with the same error code.
I knew the sensor was OK. I used the schematic from a pdf shop manual to find where the front sensors were on the airbag module connector. Here is the schematic:
I replaced the 2 front sensors by 2 paper clips and removed the center console. I then measured between pins 5 & 26 and 6 & 27 of the airbag module connector :
Driver side was a few ohms, passenger side was open. I noticed on the schematic there was 2 connectors between the sensors and the airbag module, C180 & C186. I found in my shop manual the location of these : C180, left rear of intake manifold, 24 pins and C186, left side of battery, 16 pins. I checked the latter first, because it was easy to find, after removing the battery 😁
Here are 2 photos of C186, they speak for themselves:
My guess is, when the harness was made, one pin was not fully inserted, and after years of temperature changes and vibrations, it moved back until there was no contact anymore. The connector is well protected behind the battery, nothing could have pulled a wire from it. I pushed the pin back in place until it clicked.
All I had to do was replug the airbag module connector, reinstall the center console, remove the paper clips, plug the sensors and reconnect the battery.
No more airbag light nor dtc, plus it cost nothing except some time 😉
Now I can have my vehicle safety inspection (every 2 years in France). FYI, airbag light on is a fail for this inspection 😉

There are also Toyota and GM TSB's being issued about motor oil shortages. GM told that they may have to push back oil changes if supply drops. So if a customer wants an oil change, they may have to come back in 1-2 months since supply is low.

So it might be a good time to go to WalMart or wherever you get your oil and get some 5 quart jugs.

here is what I have done since then:
1) swapped the aftermarket headlight back to OEM, but installed LED bulbs with resistors
2) replaced the side markers ( had LED all white hen lit, changed to Amber/red
3) swapped console bezel ( with switch)

I have 2 switches, I tried the originsl switch again tonight, does not work, neither switch activates the Hazards
But turn signals work without issue
at night hazard button is back lit, once I press it, it is no longer lit, I assume the backlight flashes when it works. I guess it is possible I have a bad switch. What else can i look at to try and get the hazards to work?

Thanks

I bought a 6l80 and was going to swap it back to 6 speed and it looks like I'll have
to change everything, trans, rear end torque tube. I've been searching, but
cant find the answers I'm looking for.

I'm back and fourth on rebuilding the 4l65e or 6l80 swap.
It's a cammed ls3 for street/strip if that matters.
