Dana 44 ICA cracked diff carrier bearing caps

Hi,
I�m in the process of rebuilding my Dana 44. We found these cracks in the diff carrier caps. would you use them again with these cracks?
Looks like one can�t get new ones to order. Contacted Toms differentials....no answer. CNC machining is horrible expensive.

Engine makes 520 hp/500tq, Tremec TKX with 3.27 first gear, diff is 3.07 on Hoosier slicks.
What would you do?

Gainesville results from last weekend...

First off, I never should have gone but the racer in me took over...lol...my back was still hurting and I hurt it worse...sigh...

I decided at the last minute to head up to Gainesville on Thursday evening...I packed up, hooked up and took of at 2PM on Friday...I told myself my back might feel better in the morning...yeah right!...I arrived at the track unloaded and got ready for the weekend races...unfortunately my mind was not on my job and I unloaded my Dime forgetting to pull out my trailer ramps...ouch!...I could only hope nothing was busted...off to dinner and the hotel...

Saturday morning and my back is no better but no worse...naturally I am racing...I get the truck ready, charge and fuel it up, wipe it down and go through tech...they call me up for the one and only time shot at 10:30am...I go 6.24@108.74mph...I was 18 red..oops...btw, it is going to ne 90 degrees both days...ugh...

I go up for round one at 1:15pm...I catch a 90's Camaro dialed 6.40...I put 6.24 on mine...he is red and I am .019 on the tree...I moved my long throw button 3 notches slower...I run 6.236 @ 109.19mph...I'll take it...

Second round comes at 3:45pm...what a cluster fark I get into!...I am going against a 2000's mustang dialed 6.78...except for one thing...his pre-dial board show him at 5.78..ok, I do my burn out and get ready to stage...he has not done his burn out yet?...hmmmmm...I wait and wait and finally look at the big boards down track and my dial is 6.24 while his is still 5.78...I am thinking he is broke and I will be taking a comp bye any second...I go in and light my top bulb...still no opponent?...I look at the starter asking is he broke...he throws his hands in the air...meanwhile my junk is getting hotter and hotter...I am not overly worried as I am on methanol... all of a sudden he does a quick burn out and zooms up to stage...he lights both bulbs and goes in deep...I final stage and go up on the two step...bang!, he leaves first and I am totally confused...I let go 27 red...I find out later he was trying to get them to correct his dial to 6.78 the whole time...what a chit show...in the end it was my fault but it sure would have been nice if they told me what the heck was going on...sheesh...I have never checked the dial in's three times in my life but live and learn I guess...

Later on I get some dinner and head to the hotel...back to the track on Sunday morning and my back is a little worse but I am racing dang it...today we race right off the trailer with no time shot...they call us up for round one at 9:25am and I line up with a friend in his vega...he dials 6.09 so I put 6.23 on mine trying to dial hard...we both leave green him being .017 to my .012...he comes up on me and I am waiting for his drop...it never comes so I lead him through by a fender...WTF!...his win light comes on...the time slip says he went dead 8 and I was two under my dial at 6.21...I asked him later and he got rid of what he was holding before coming up on me...no wonder I did not catch his drop...oh well, he outdrove me on that one...

I take the walk of shame and buy back in...round two is at 11:30am...I get a newer camaro dialed 6.38...I put 6.22 on mine...he is 24 on the tree to my 25...at the stripe he breaks out by two numbers and I go under by 3 thou for the win...alert the media, I won a double break out...lol...

It is 1:30 and up I go for round three...I am next to a C-7 vette dialed 7.08...I put 6.23 on my junk...he leaves green and I do as well but I felt I missed the tree some...I was correct as I had a .050 tree...he was .047 so we had a race anyway, or so I thought...I drive the stripe like an idiot...he goes 2 above for the win and, yup, I break out going yet another 6.21...I took the stripe by .029 hogging it up...fooey!....

At this point my back is really hurting so my buddy helps me load up and I head of for the 3 hour tow home...I m still a mess as I type this but I am shooting to be better for the May 9th race at Orlando...we'll see...Quasimoto signing off...

Looks like I am heading up to Gainesville today for the weekend brackets...more seat time with the new button...yahoo!!!...
