Are you kidding me? Many of the intakes are waay under what places are selling them for. Take a look at the 3 pice Keith Dorton intake, places on the internet are selling it for over $900.00. My price is $550.00.
Take a look at the Holley 300-96 and 300-97 intake manifolds. Places are selling them for over $450.00, my price is $300.00
Holley 300-69, I just checked, my price is $169.00. One internet place has it on sale for $303.89....

There is no handling charge, you just pay for the shipping in which I don't even break even on. Bob

Automotive Specialists Technical Achievement Timeline

Automotive Specialists has been a success in the racing industry since opening for business in 1965. Chronicled here by decade are some highlights of the racers, teams and victories our technical expertise and engine R&D have helped power in over 37 years of racing. Our engines have been winning for nearly four decades, and we can build one for you to win with in the coming years.

1960s
During the late 1960s into the late 1970s Automotive Specialists was the first to make high performance and racing in-line six cylinder intakes and headers for 240 Ford and 250 Chevrolet engines. In the late 1960s Dale Earnhardt was one of the drivers who raced Keith's Automotive Specialists stock cars early in his career. We became the primary cylinder head supplier for many winning Winston Cup teams, including Junior Johnson's cars driven by Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough.

1970s
During the late '70s Automotive Specialists worked on the first W-2 small block Chrysler engines and worked with big block Chryslers for Winston Cup. First cylinder heads developed were done after hours, we couldn't afford for anyone to see it.
1980s
We built engines for Ernie Irvan when he began racing on dirt, and continued supplying his powerplants when he advanced to Winston Cup. Automotive Specialists branched out form exclusively building racing engines to begin the house-engine program for the NASTRAC driving school, now known as the Richard Petty Driving Experience.

1990s
We began these years with building the Winston Cup restrictor-plate engine that powered Derrick Cope to his Daytona 500 win, and expanded our capacity later in the decade by moving to a state-of-the-art engine shop in 1997. In 1994 our racing engines won five championships: including the Valvoline Challenge, Slim Jim All Pro, Five Flags Classic, NASCAR Northwest Tour, and United Stock Car Alliance Tropical Challenge. We added to this impressive achievement in this decade by powering the winners of two Hooters Cup Championships, and two Hooters ProCup Championships. In 1998 Automotive Specialists began qualifying our engines on the first DTS dynos in the Southeast in a noise control installation that has become well known in the industry for its accuracy and repeatability.

2000s
These first years of the new millennium has been some of our best yet for our engines and technical experience. In 2001 our R&D division was contracted to machine, assemble, and test a 2-cylinder variable compression ratio engine used by the US Department of Energy. Bobby Gill won the Hooters ProCup Championship in 2000 and 2001 with our powerplants. Jason Sarvis won the Hooters ProCup Championship in 2002. We also helped develop the Keith Dorton Signature Series of racing products, including intake manifolds and custom-turnable carburetors, for venerable performance and racing manufacturer Holley Performance Products. Plus, we worked with world -renowned piston manufacturer Mahle to develop their racing pistons for short track engines.

Keith Dorton is a world-renowned circle track engine builder who is noted for the extraordinarily successful engines that his company builds, including NASCAR winners. He's also deeply involved in many R & D projects for many of the major original equipment companies.

Keith builds extraordinarily successful engines because he thoroughly understands the intricacies of engines and fuel systems; he's careful, methodical and devotes the necessary time and effort to do a job right the first time. For this reason he was approached by Holley to help develop a family of two and four-barrel racing carburetors that would have no peers.

The Keith Dorton Signature Series is no ordinary line of race carburetors. These carburetors were planned in detail from the outset. Then they were carefully developed, dyno-tested and track-tested by Keith Dorton and Holley to be the epitome of circle track racing carburetors.

Relying on his years of hands-on experience and technical expertise, Keith Dorton has accomplished his task in admirable fashion. Race ready out of the box, Keith's carburetors are designed for bolt-on-and-win performance.

Keith Dorton 2300 HP Carburetor Features

• Intended for short circle track racing.
• Choke hardware and related machining provisions are deleted for smoother air flow.
• Choke rod hole in main body is factory-sealed with a brass block-off plate to prevent unfiltered air from entering the carburetor.
• PCV and other external vacuum tube sources are deleted.
• "Straight-type" accelerator pump nozzle design is used to prevent any possibility of fuel pullover and to reduce any chance of rich conditions at high RPM.
• A plastic accelerator pump arm is used for more consistent operation.
• 30cc accelerator pump GFLT diaphragm is used for durability.
• 50cc accelerator pump system has been eliminated from the 500 CFM carburetor. It's been replaced with a user-friendly " off-the-corner" 30cc accelerator pump system.
• Power valve blow-out protection eliminates blown power valves.
• Welded throttle lever and shaft assembly is used for strength.
• Throttle plate screws are a low-profile buttonhead design, secured with Loctite®
• Screw-in type air bleeds are used to facilitate tuning.
• HP metering blocks are reinforced for strength and specially designed for optimum fuel atomization.
• Metering blocks have installed fuel slosh/vent baffles for superior fuel control during hard acceleration and braking conditions.
• Fuel bowl screw gaskets are made of nylon, so they're reusable.
• Stainless steel throttle plates are used with drilled air bypass hole(s) for smooth idle.
• A metal cup plug is installed in the throttle body shaft opening, opposite the throttle shaft lever, to eliminate dust, contaminates and unapproved air flow from entering the carburetor.
• Air cleaner mounting stud increased from 1/4" to 5/16" diameter for added strength and dependability (500 CFM carburetor).
• Sizes of throttle bore, venturi, booster diameter, throttle plate thickness and throttle shaft diameter have not changed. They comply and are fully consistent with the technical gauging now in use. Venturi casting rings are reamed to legal dimensions, for more consistent air flow.
• ID numbers for carburetor and metering block are relocated for ease of viewing.
• Factory flow-tested to insure quality and reliability.

NOTE: Eligible for NASCAR® use beginning with the 2001 competition season.
