It is my understanding that they are slated to come out as a 2009 model.

I would expect the price points to be something close to what they were when they bowed out

Camaro = ~15-20k

Camaro Z28 = ~20-25k

Camaro SS/ZL-1 = ~30-35k (rumor is that there will either be an SS or a ZL-1 with a slight chance of there being both...... one of them with the LS7 505 HP engine to do battle with the GT500's)

add a convertible option to any to the above for I guess about 5k

also..... this does not count the markups that are obviously going to be charged on the Z28's when they first come out.

I have had 2 C5s and 3C6s, but it is going to be really hard not to get a new Camaro convertible. I dont think there has been anything close to an official announcement of pricing, but the feel is that it is going to be around $45K for a nicely equipped coupe. They will climb from there. I think I like the shock value when people will see the car.

There is no way that MSRP will be remotely close to 45k for a Camaro. That would be death to the car.

The 2008/09 model was built using a 2004 Pontiac GTO by Saleen, the body was built from the same GM R&D molds that were used in the prototype 08/09 Camaros. Early photos show that Bumblebee can transform either one of his arms into an energy cannon, and has missile launchers in his shoulders.

--was listed in Wikipedia--but I have read it elsewhere also. Have not seen the Mustang mentioned before.

That's what killed the SSR. If they had used that styling and put a V6 in it and sold it for $24,000, they'd still be making them!

you guys are kidding me? No love for Corvettes young brother? Horrible dissapointing in fact.

I hope the Camaro ends up being a better value all together than a base Corvette so everyone who thought it was crap can eat their words

I will own one. I've had several SS's in the past, last being an 02 and loved every one. Seeing it in person at the Detroit Auto show, I said I have to have one. And the crowd was full of people that absolutely loved it. It will be a hit. Vette motor, retro 69ish styling, what's not to love.

That's pretty sad, I liked the SSR especially after they put the LS2 in it.

I am ready for an SS Camaro vert daily driver. I will buy one and still keep buying a vette every couple of years. I anticipate that the cost will be about $40K. The 00 SS vert that I had went for $35K.

Hey I own a C6 and a '68 Camaro. I think the new Camaro looks great but I think I'll keep the vette.

Default When I lose my job, and end up.....

living under a bridge, I'll take an interest in the new Camaro. Until then, it's for ***-clowns.

better watch who you call an ***-clown. I'd get the vert with a 500+ hp motor, as I'm sure many on this board would as well.

According to the HBO promo about the movie (the Transformers) the car was an actual Camaro prototype. Michael Bay even mentioned being worried about wrecking a $5,000,000.00 prototype!

While this is clearly an off-topic subject, speak for yourself. I'm sure there are a lot of Vette owners that like the concept Camaro. It might just breath some life into GM again. My first car was a '77 Camaro. Personally, I can't wait for the production version to hit the streets.
