4.10's on an auto runs 9.9 @132
The car is owned by 1cDub of Lee's summit, MO. He set a new PB today at KCIR...
vids of a few passes leading up to it..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YCsdSe0G4LQ
60' 1.297
330' 4.010
1/8th 6.305
mph 106.66
1000' 8.299
1/4 9.997
mph 132.10
3350 raceweight.
454 LSX, BG carb, MSD distributor, L92's, .600 lift Patrick G spec Hyd cam., th400, S60 w/ 4.10's, Hoosier 295 radials.
Here is a few pics..
Car is a daily driver. The intake was a GMPP using a BG carb. This allowed the power band to be raised and allow the added rpm to the top of the MPH range.
Gearing is maxxed without regard to power output. The car dead hooks into a wheelie. Near 600rwhp and 4.10's on an auto seems to be a good combo. Take note of the 60'. Also take note of the mph: 132 for a 9.97 pass.

That would have been sooo much faster with 3.90's
Sick looking wheelies!!

That's a funny-looking body kit for a Corvette. And did he do that on street tires?
He may indeed drive it every day, but that is nowhere near what 99% of people mean when they use the words "daily driver". Let's see him do a cruise across the USA at 80 mph.
Nice passes all the same.

Nice performance.
At 3000 rpm at 60 mph (TH400, 4.10s, 26.8" tire and virtually no converter slip), its not my idea of a daily driver, but I do remember when those rpms weren't considered a big deal.
Just to bust your chops.
2.48 x 4.10 = 10.168 effective first gear. That's about the same as a stock M6 Z51 in first gear (2.97 x 3.42) or a A6 with with stock gears (4.02 x 2.56)
In support of your cause, the quickest bolt-on LS1 (10.685 @ 122.9 per LS1 Tech) is running 4.56 gears with their TH400 and a 4600 stall. I don't know the tire size.

I am very impressed with the power coming through those L92 heads...sure wish mine were on already!

That car is badass.
Nothing wrong with going 4.10s in an auto (or manual) at all, the true performance oriented person always looks at what will be best at making his or her car quicker/faster.

4.10's in an automatic that can actually hook, is a killer combo. My buddy has an 02 SS that has a LS2 Heads/Cam, through an Auto with 3500 Stall/4.10's in a 12 Bolt and about 10k in suspension. He ran high 10's at 124 on drag radials. With proper suspension, stall, and cam...4.10's can be a nightmare. Line an auto 4.10/Stall car against the same modded MN6 and the auto wins all day Nice runs

What a nasty badass car!........ hey I don't think anyone here will argue the point of maxing out the gearing to obtain a lower elasped time.
Crazy gears and a very small, high stall speed convertor have always been the way to go......... it is just that some of us are a bit adverse to doing wheelies on the street Now if C6DVL only had an auto

I was simply illustrating 3 points:
1-The steeper the gear the better the 60' is
2-Power can indeed make it to the ground with 4.10's (wheel spin isnt from gears its from power)
3-A car that sticks the launch does indeed have lower trap speeds.
Lastly the car has a 454 displacement that idles and drives with the same manners as a 232 cam in a 6 liter.

We were inside eating when this was going on, if it'd happened just 20 minutes earlier we could've gotten some sweet video of it.
