The 4th Gen's still Got it!!
Was looking @ a new 5th gen the other day, even considered selling my 4th gen.. could not bring myself to do it... Let's see, custom built to my spec's, paid in full 4th gen... or,, $39K for a new SS...
11.70s in the 1/4... or 13's... For me, it's a no brainer..Now, if they bring back the Z28 (Supercharged).. Definately a different story.

My local dealer has gotten 3 2010 Camaros in during the last 10 days. They have them out front for everone to see. My opinion, now that I've gotten a good look in person?
The roofline is too low, like a chopped '32 Ford that got out of hand. The body is really "thin" with the rocker panels way up from the ground, yet you couldn't really lower it too much to "fix" that, as the wheels/tires are already filling up the wheel wells.
Something just is out of proportion....I won't be running down there to trade my 4th gen for one, that's for sure!

Drifting
My complaints:
- too thick A pillar
- trunk opening is much smaller than the Mustang (trying to get wife out of Mustang)
- weight is off the scales 3900lbs compared to about 3400 for a 4th gen or about 3500 for a Mustang
- price of V8 Camaro is too high, yeah I know the engine is sweet but think back to 2002, the diff in cost btw a V6 and V8 was much less then

Burning Brakes
The 4th-gen is definitely a more PRACTICAL, VERSATILE car than the 5th-gen. I can fit 4 race tires on rims, as well as a jack, stands, tools, and even some light camping gear all inside my 4th-gen, and hit the track for a weekend .
No way you could do the same with a 5th-gen.
The 5th-gen is a nice car, but it doesn't have the "I-gotta-have-it" factor I thought it would.

Melting Slicks
Even after all these years, I'm still struck by how "right" the 1993 Camaro is as a design. A truly beautiful car. I don't like the post-1998 look nearly as much (the front end is too blunt). I don't think the 5th Gen will age nearly as well. The whole "retro movement" is a dead end to me; how do you evolve a retro design?
Fast Freddy: gorgeous car! Brings back memories, I owned a 2000 SS, red M6.

just traded in my 99 Trans Am, I'm gonna miss her.....alot, but I ended up with my first corvette, so it's all good, i hope the corvette gives me as much pleasure as the T/A did.
