2002 SLP Camaro 345HP
I have a buddy who has a 2002 camaro LS1 auto but he said it has a package from SLP from the factory putting it at 345HP. im not sure what the 02 SS was rated at powerwise. maybe 310? i know he has an SLP air intake, catback and not sure what else. it may have SLP shorty headers on it. it sounds decent and really moves for being an auto. the thing looks immaculate as he babys it and only has less than 30k miles on it. anyway, he knows i love Fbodys and vetts and wanted to know the easiest way to get it up to 400hp. i told him i would do some research and get back too him. I think a really nice set of long tube headers and high flow cats would be the best start but im not sure exactly what the SLP package came with in 2002. anybody know enough about it to help me out here? anyone have a 98-02 fbody making 400hp with bolt ons? and to clarify, yes, i am talking about flywheel hp. not rear wheel hp. thanks.

The only 345 HP cars were the SS with blackwing intake, smooth bellow coupling and cme exhaust. I had one and I miss it. Very rare car mine was also 02 SS Limited edition

One of the biggest problems with making a lot of HP with "street driven" 3rd and 4th gen Camaro/Firebirds is the lack of room for a really good exhaust system....

so how many with an LS in either an Fbody or a vett have gotten to 400flywheel HP with boltons? would a good set of llongtube headers and an electric waterpump do it? or would i have to ad rockers as well?

Absolutely no reason to change rockers as part of your bolt on plan.
Getting to 400 RWHP on the Mustang Dyno (not inflated & adjustable numbers as on the Dynojet..which is about 15-20% more... JMO).
Headers, Cam, better heads, ported or 80mm TB on a your already LS6 type intake* (*std. on all F-Body & Corvette LS1's by 2001) Aftermarket MAF sensor & a Pofessional Tune (no handheld despite what anyone tells you, will give you the best results vs. a dedicated/reknowned Tuner person).
Good Luck...

stock 2002 SS had 330 HP. the optional SLP intake and cat back was rated at 345 hp.
SLP cars could be ordered in a # of different ways just like i ordered my 01' SS.

For the record...The HP figures published by GM were a marketing ploy, pure genius on their part, it sure made some guys open up their wallets! There were very little differences between LS1s whether it be in an SS, WS6, Z/28 or C5. The main differences between 97-04 vettes and 98-02 F-bodies were exhaust and airbox/intake tract. A bone stock F-body and C5 will dyno the same, perhaps 5 RWHP difference...
Your buddy will get to 400 flywheel HP easily. Full bolt-ons should get him there, Longtubes/Y, Catback, underdrive pulley, Lid/FTRA, ported TB and good tune. Once he has the supporting mods, a good cam will get him close or even past the 400 RWHP mark.
