My son is just weeks away from graduating HS and starting school at BYU 10 days after he graduates. So the car will be waiting for him while he's gone to school. We he gets back, we will finish it up.

My son Christian is now enrolled at Brigham Young University in Provo Utah. His car is sleeping with a blanket on it to keep it warm until he returns.

I've always loved those wheels! I had a '77 Trans-Am for many years, bought it new in the fall of '76. Unfortunately for me, those wheels weren't offered until the '78 models. Later on, I tried to find a set for my car, but there were pretty rare on the used market.

I've got a 1 year old son, and I've been saying this for nearly a decade... I said that someday I'd get a beater for my son/daughter (if I had one) when s/he's a few years from driving and we'd rebuild it together.
I've had 2 Trans Ams in the past ('94 & '02 'Hawk) both black... and I knew that the ticket someday would be an old Bandit style Poncho.
Con-grats!!!!

while the pictures seem to be gone now, what an awesome project to do with your son. I bought a new 79 TA back in 79 (gold) and wish like heck I kept it..... but then again, I have 3 daughters who probably wouldn't even help me wash it if I still had it! congrats

I enjoyed this thread, but its unfortunate it just "stopped" without a conclusion (IIRC, the car was just out of paint, with no interior when his son left for school). And it looks like the OP is not active on the forum anymore (his last post was in 2013, from what I can see). I wonder what happened to him?

There were 2 other Lincoln LS enthusiasts who were also Corvette enthusiasts, and who also were also frequent visitors here at CF. One day, the one member suddenly stopped visiting both websites, never to be heard from again....
