Default Can I get my 95 Camaro to sound like a 5.0 stang

If I was to go to junk yard and tear off a 5.0 exhaust system and I mean the whole system including headers and slapped them on my camaro would I then have that 5.0 growl that I can hear a mile away?

I've heard this asked before and the answer is no due to the firing order of the pistons being different

OP must have the 3.4 because the LT1 sounds better than a 302 Ford.

I actually agree with the OP - The V8 mustang really does sounds awesome. Deep and loud with an awesome tone to it. The GM 5.7's do also sound good but not as good. They sound too raspy. However the 5.7 is clearly the better motor and this thread is a bit blasphemous lol

I am very late for this thread but if the OP is still around, all I can say is you need to find a specific exhaust system for the Camaro that will give you the deep sound you are looking for. Personally I vouch for Magnaflow! Even when I had stock exhaust manifolds, that cat-back sounded nice. I suppose you could play around or have someone weld the muffler from the 5.0 on to your Camaro but is it really going to have the same sound as the 5.0? I doubt it immensely.

My 93 LT1 Trans Am sounded fantastic, just like it should. Like above example. My 2002, not so much, good sound but not "old School".
