Budget for Iroc-350
I'm starting to shop for a clean all original Iroc-Z 5.7L either an 1989 or a 1990. Maybe between 75000 and 100,000 miles. Any guess what I should budget/pay? I'd prefer a solid roof, but not a requirement. Any have to have options I should look for?

Great car... Love the 3rd Gen IROCS... I have owned 2.. An 87 and an 89... Traded to 89 in on a 93Z28 when they first came out at the end of 92! Later picked up an 87 w 55K miles.Wished I still had both of them. Depending on what you are looking to spend Ebay always seems to have a lot of nice choices. GL

Make sure the condition is there. Seen many sub 100kl mi cars that need everything. Ill take one with faded original paint, clean interior and good running/driving attributes over one that has new paint, rims but was just driven and driven. Ive seen very nice survivor types for $2500, others for 5ush. Some are asking the moon those usually dont sell (and are beat to hell)
There was a super clean grey 82 or 84z on los angeles CL last mo for $2500 shoulda got it. Orig owner still had it...thats the kind you want.
Youll hear people spout about what crap they were brand new...bs. Some of us were there.

Bust
Just came back from seeing a "one-owner" "cream puff". Turns out to have been wrecked with paint work if you knew what you were looking for. The missing door jamb decal was a bit much.
I was told the were 2 competing offers at full price. Pass....

Run, don't walk on deals like that. Be patient. You'll come across the right one. there are plenty out there.

I still have my '89 5.7 that I purchased new. It has about 60k on it. Kept all the original paperwork, etc...I recorded GNR cassette tapes to listen to on the drive back home from the dealership lol I never drive it anymore. Sometimes I think of selling it.

That is awesome! GNR! You thought it was funny asking kids about cassettes, I just had someone ask me "what's a CD"? (They were kinda kidding). (My old stomping grounds are N. GA.)

Somewhere between $7,500 for a great deal, up to $14,000 (OR MORE) in pristine condition.
I bought an 89 GTA 5.7L car when it was just a couple years old. Drove it to about 140k mi, then sold. Bought another, under 50k mi, and loaded with some great options. B2L,JG1, L98, N10, U1A, etc.

Sorry to bring an old thread up to the surface, but it's pretty crazy seeing the values listed from just 2 years ago. I just sold a 45k mile 1990 IROC-Z for $18,000 and a year ago I sold a 1982 Z28 for $15,000. The value of IROC Camaro's have taken off like crazy over the past couple of years. I know of some ultra low mile cars that have brought mid 30's and higher. And for whatever reason, the Trans Am GTA's are not bringing anywhere near the money that the IROC'S are
