"Corvettes [were crap] before the C5?!?!?
One Stanley K. von Sternberg (79 years of age) of Marblehead Mass. writes, in a letter to Corvette Fever this month, that "I presently own [a] C6 Z51...I never would have purchased a Corvette before the C5. They were mostly unreliable and far from great in looks compared to the European and Asian cars. ... I've noticed that all the complaints about the C6 come from people who obviously own older cars purchased used. My answer to [people who whine about the looks of the C6] is, if you can't afford it the next best thing to do is find fault with it."
I wonder where Mr. von Sterberg was when Corvette was tearing up Daytona and Le Mans in the late '50s and early '60S? Those of us who have had Corvettes in our garage for more than 20 years have done so because we saw that it was the European cars which were unrealiable (can you say Lucas?).
I'm happy that Mr. von Sterberg has his C6 (couldn't afford the ZO6?), but it's just the latest -- and admitedly best -- incarnation of a car which has been GREAT since at least '57 (oh, OK, '53).
So if you happen to be driving near Marblehead Mass., and your wave is not returned because your '67 L71 convert doesn't meet muster, you'll know why.

I read that too, I'm a new subscriber to Corvette Fever, but was kinda dissapointed to see they published that jerk's opinion. That guy represents the worst kind of vette owner IMO.

Every generation has so much to offer and such great back-stories. We bought the C5 first, but we're working toward having one of every generation - C3 is next...

Its kinda cool that the old guy is stll getting behind the wheel
of a Vette. But its obvious that he has not been bitten by the "Bug".
If I could....I would own one of each generation.

So many Vettes so little time. Why spend any of it bashing any of the generations. Still many I would like to try! Some I liked more than others but all were fun!!

He's contradicting himself:
"My answer to [people who whine about the looks of the C6] (or earlier classic Corvettes, eh, Stanley?--LB68) is, if you can't afford it the next best thing to do is find fault with it."

2021 C1 of the Year Finalist - Modified
I used to have a Lotus Esprit. Spent far more time working on it than driving it. It was always broke down, and parts were outrageously expensive !! But it was a pretty thing (setting in the garage). I drive my Vette all year around even in the snow, always have.

We've seen These Guys Before- They Don't Stay Long
Mr. Stanley K. Von Sternberg does not know what he is talking about. I would guess he is a former Honda-Toyota owner and has purchased a Corvette in order to pursue his second childhood and has decided to impress us all with his vast knowledge. We have another expert among us.

And we all know the definition of an expert:
ex = a has-been
spert = a drip under pressure (spelling changed for pronunciation)
