Well I am getting a new windshield for the vert so might as well get the stainless polished and de-dinged, now that I have a wide open space I figured I might as well paint the dash. I bought paint from the local Vette shop and started in after many hours of prep. WRONG COLOR instead of saddle its more like baby poop gold. Went to the local auto paint store and hade them mix a batch WRONG Color when it dried :mad :mad :mad I have a couple of rattle cans from Corvette America comming that is a perfect match ( at least it was last time I got some) I have about 6 or 8 coats on the dash do any of you know if I have created a problem for myself down the road.
I would do it again, even though its the wrong shade it is still a beautiful job , I just am worried about what a build up of dye will do in a vert in the hot summer sun.
Prop:
If I were in your shoes I think I'd sand a good bit of it off before final finishing. Ugly job.
Knoch sells quarts of "dye" that is a dead on match from my experience.
Good luck
