Default 66 427 Non Safety Engine Mount

Below picture shows two current “imported” reproduction "original style non safety" engine mounts. As you can see they are quite different. The one on the right is from Corvette Central while the left is from Paragon. The obvious difference to me is the left has a rubber "trough" on the bottom while the right example has the "trough" on the top.

Since my car has safety mounts installed, I do not know if either looks as original. Can you advise me as to how close either example is to an original 66 427 L72 style non safety engine mount or should I give up on these completely and go to another supplier that you know has the correct type. I do not race the car so I am want originality here.

I'm no expert, but the one on the left looks correct to me. Chuck

Thanks Chuck - FYI - I decided to skip non saftey mounts due to the overwelming suggestions to keep the saftey mounts for "saftey" sake and deal with the points deduct for judging.

PS - I was surprised by the lack of interest this got on the Forum while other sites had immediate and multiple response. Somehow I get a sense that the Forum may be losing "readership" as I have noticed a slowing of input and overall dialogue in general. Have you seen this too?

Don't know if it's an issue with BB's but on SB's you have to use the correct mount to get the "V" shields for the ignition shielding to fit. BB's use braided wire, so I don't think that would be a factor.

Big "issue" about a month ago. Many people left....and haven't come back. Chuck

Hope to see you there, John. We're bringing the 69 for Flight Judging. Should have a great turnout. Many of the "big time" guys will be there, including Roy Sinor, the National Judging Chairman. Seems many of the "movers and shakers" will be in Hershey for a Convention meeting that weekend, and are coming to our event afterwards before hitting the airport. Don't forget the judging school at 5PM Saturday. Chuck

You won't be a NCRS "virgin" anymore, Greg. :) Just remember, midyears have independent rear suspension, NOT a solid axles. AND....no, carbon fiber is not "factory correct". Chuck
