Bank Robbery last week at Elmhurst Community Bank in Elmhurst, IL.
http://www.mysuburbanlife.com/2017/0...bbery/axo0hix/
My wife does her business banking here and this is 5 minutes from my home. I have been in this bank on several occasions. They have the no (CCW) gun sign on their door so this makes them an easy target as they are advertising to the criminals that their bank is a gun free zone.

Novi police offer half-priced CPL classes for men this Father's Day
http://www.mlive.com/news/detroit/in...lf-priced.html
The Novi Police Department announced it will offer half-price concealed pistol license training classes for men in honor of Father's Day.
The class, which usually costs $150, will be $75 for all men on June 17, a day before the dad holiday and does not require participants to be Novi residents.
The class is a prerequisite to apply for a CPL license, which costs another $100.

Gun vote moves Michigan closer to scrapping training, permit rules
http://www.freep.com/story/news/loca...gan/354344001/
LANSING — A House panel today approved a controversial package of bills that would allow Michigan residents to carry concealed weapons without obtaining permits or receiving training.
The four bills passed in 6-4 votes. They now move to the full House and would require Senate approval and Gov. Rick Snyder's signature to become law.
WI - “Constitutional carry:” Bill would allow people to carry concealed without a permit, training
http://fox6now.com/2017/05/29/consti...rmit-training/
MADISON -- A proposed bill would allow people in Wisconsin to carry concealed guns without a permit or training. The state's largest police union is against the proposal, while supporters say it's really just a slight change to the current concealed carry law.
At Fletcher Arms in Waukesha, it is easy to find those who believe efforts to bring "constitutional carry" laws to Wisconsin are on target.
"The lack of a training requirement should not equate, in people's minds, to a lack of people having training," Nik Clark, president of Wisconsin Carry said.
The bill would make Wisconsin the 13th state to allow concealed carry without a permit, or the training that comes with it.

MADISON, WIS.
Gun advocates urged a state Senate committee Wednesday to approve a Republican bill allowing people to carry concealed weapons without permits or training, saying the measure would restore Wisconsin residents' constitutional right to arm themselves.
Sen. Dave Craig and Rep. Mary Felzkowski, the bill's authors, kicked off a public hearing on the measure before the Senate judiciary committee by telling members that permit and training requirements restrict rights. They noted people already can legally carry guns openly in Wisconsin without any permits, training or regulations.
"Why should our citizens enjoy any less rights when you already have a standard to carry openly without a permit?" Craig said.

Illinois Dodges a Bullet…For Now: Gun Dealer Licensing on Life Support
http://www.gunssavelife.com/illinois...-life-support/
Today marks the end of the Spring legislative session at the Illinois capitol. The House sponsor of the Illinois Gun Dealer Licensing Bill (SB-1657) chose not to call the bill for a vote. That’s good for those of us who value our gun rights because with the session ending, the bill’s chances of passage sag dramatically.

Ruger recently discovered that all Mark IV™ pistols (including 22/45™ models) manufactured prior to June 1, 2017 have the potential to discharge unintentionally if the safety is not utilized correctly.
In particular, if the trigger is pulled while the safety lever is midway between the "safe" and "fire" positions (that is, the safety is not fully engaged or fully disengaged), then the pistol may not fire when the trigger is pulled. However, if the trigger is released and the safety lever is then moved from the mid position to the "fire" position, the pistol may fire at that time.
Although only a small percentage of pistols appear to be affected and we are not aware of any injuries, Ruger is firmly committed to safety and would like to retrofit all potentially affected pistols with an updated safety mechanism.
Until your Mark IV™ pistol has been retrofitted or you verify that it is not subject to the recall, we strongly recommend that you not use your pistol.

CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago police were warning motorists in the Lincoln Park neighborhood and on the Near North Side about a recent string of so-called “bump and run” car thefts.
In each of the incidents, an offender crashes a vehicle into the victim’s car from behind. When the victim gets out to assess the damage, an accomplice gets into the victim’s car and drives away.
Police said there are a few practical things you can do to protect yourself if you’ve been in a crash – don’t leave your keys in the car when you get out to check for damage, turn your engine off, and keep your doors and windows locked.
If you see any suspicious activity, report it immediately, and save any video footage you might have, so you can provide a copy to police.

Gov. Bruce Rauner on Friday signed a stronger gun bill that has been repeatedly pushed for by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Supt. Eddie Johnson as well as former Mayor Richard M. Daley.
The bill changes the current gun sentencing from three to 14 years, giving the judge’s discretion to sentence offenders from seven to 14 years.
Johnson said the "cycle of violence just continues in our city" and believes stronger sentences will send a message.

New South Side Gun Club Strives To 'Empower' Women
https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/2017...ndlynn-dunagan
Franklin said she couldn’t find any concealed-carry classes on the South Side, especially none taught by a woman.
“That really impressed me,” she said. “I was excited about it because there was finally someone who understood my fear of guns, overcame it and was now sharing that with women.”
Even if a woman chooses not to use a gun for personal reasons, Dunagan encourages women to learn self-defense.
“We all need to learn something and take responsibility for our own defense,” she said, adding that it’s all about "empowering" women.

The (Terre Haute) range offers targets that turn, as well as other features. For instance, sound of people, music, dogs barking and gun shots and strobe lights, can be added to the mix to stimulate stress-inducing elements for training.
“We are also one of the only indoor ranges in the Midwest that also offers rifle capabilities with a longer range, and the only range in the Midwest, which I know of, which incorporates a shoot house. It is common for law enforcement, where you set up rooms inside a building and [we] can set those up differently each time. The person going into the shot house can train on how to do room-clearing drills, etc,” Ellis said.

Michigan Switchblade Ban Repeal Bill Signed by Governor
https://www.ammoland.com/2017/07/mic...#axzz4mpkrJvBg
Michigan –-(Ammoland.com)- Knife Rights' Michigan Switchblade Ban Repeal bill, SB 245, was signed yesterday by Governor Rick Snyder.
SB 245, sponsored by Senator Rick Jones, simply repeals Section 226a (switchblade ban) of the Michigan penal code originally enacted in 1952. SB245 is the culmination of years of effort by Knife Rights and our friends in Michigan including Senator Mike Green, the original sponsor of the bill.
SB245 becomes effective in 90 days on October 10, 2017. Switchblade (Automatic) knives remain illegal in Michigan until then.
Knife Rights Chairman Doug Ritter noted, “this is a great day for Michigan knife owners, but there is still plenty of work to be done to rid Michigan of its remaining archaic and vague knife restrictions. Knife Rights will keep working until Michigan's law-abiding knife owners are free to carry any blade they want.”
Knife Rights has repealed switchblade bans in Alaska, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin and now in Michigan.

CHICAGO, Ill. (WCIA) -- Candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for governor are rolling out their plans to enact tougher gun laws in the wake of a rising tide of shootings and murders across the state.
"You need a license to sell a service that cuts hair and you don't need a license to sell a gun that cuts down a human life," Kennedy told the crowd.

5,000 Guns Confiscated So Far from Chicago in 2017
The city of Chicago is the poster child for the graveyard spiral that happens when gun control activists have a stranglehold on the local politicians. The shared belief in that city: stricter gun control laws are all that’s needed to stop the insane number of murders which happen in the city on a daily basis.
When the stricter gun control laws fail to actually address the issue the response isn’t to reassess their thinking. Instead, Windy City pols agitate for even stricter gun control laws — hoping that will finally fix things.
According to the Chicago PD’s press release over the weekend stricter gun control laws are failing spectacularly to keep illegal guns out of the city. From NBC Chicago:

Indiana legislators consider ‘constitutional carry’ for Hoosiers
http://cbs4indy.com/2017/08/22/india...-for-hoosiers/
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A push to allow Hoosiers to carry handguns without a license was the focus of a nearly five-hour committee hearing at the statehouse Tuesday.
"Constitutional carry" is based on the idea that the Second Amendment already gives people the right to carry a handgun, so additional steps such as licensing are unnecessary. State representative Jim Lucas (R-District 69) authored a bill during the last legislative session to repeal the law that requires Hoosiers to have a gun permit. The bill was sent to committee for further discussion.
