I was able to confirm this morning that this year's car show at the Columbus Zoo will be on Sunday Oct 7, 2018. With the contract in the mail, David Kindig is again scheduled to attend this great event. Note: due to the construction at the Zoo, the event will be held in the parking lot this year.

Interesting that the show this year will be held in the parking lot. Who did you confirm this with, if I may ask?

Sold my Black Rose C4 last weekend. Not sure what the future plan is but I will likely be parking the daily driver in the other lot for at least a few months when I can make it to C&C. Good news is I wont have to worry about rain.

It sure looks like it:

I haven't been able to make it out myself yet. Heck, I haven't even been able to take the cover off. There is a core group that meets almost year round, of course they drive their daily drivers on the not so nice days.

Here I have been dreaming of shifting thru the gears all winter, and I think I might get to make it out in the morning, so I take the cover off and what do I find....

I guess that is what I get for an original nose that has seen more miles and use in the last three years than the previous 15. This won't stop me from enjoying the ride though. These were built to be driven and enjoyed.

You should have come out. There was a really good turn out. A lot of Mopar's... and we may have lost one of our own to the Mopar family!

I did manage to take her out in the afternoon. Any idea what caused the crack?

Old age and too many heat and cold cycles. The urethane bumpers are known to be prone to these types of cracks after many years. This Corvette did not see much sunshine from 1990 - 2013, and since I picked it up in 2013 it has seen a lot more direct sunlight.

I am planning on giving her a makeover in time for her 50th birthday, and while I am tempted to keep her the same color, I am also considering going a little darker. There is still time to decide. If funds become available, I might get a new front bumper cover, but I'm not in a hurry for that just yet. There are a few more home projects that need to be checked off on first.

Check out this thread in the C1 & C2 section, "what caused the crack?"

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...his-crack.html

I did the same in the C3 section, got one response.

Default Dayton"s C&C

FYI...A very nice gathering occurs here in Dayton (Austin Landing) if ya don't mind a little drive. 400-600 cars seems the norm on a nice day. Since I don't live in the Columbus area, I go to this one. It's bi-monthly so I occasionally can do Columbus. Enjoy where ever you go.
