Default Driving your Vette in December Part XXXXVII!

Oh well you know, or driving any else cool like a Viper, Ferrari, Classic Muscle Car, or of course, your Vette.

I took advantage of the rain and warmer temps from mid-week that washed away most of the salt, so I had my 09 Viper out all day Friday and Saturday. She was up for emissions so I figured I would get that done and also threw in a new battery today while I was at it. Then we took a drive this Saturday afternoon to Maxon's Gun Range today in DesPlaines (great range), and fired off a couple hundred rounds in two new .40 and .45 caliber CCW guns I recently acquired.

All in all it was great driving my Viper about 60 miles on both Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, before the streets and highways get salted again, most likely this Sunday. Now the battery tender is on the new battery until the next weekend that the roads are pretty much salt free during the winter.

Its always good to steal a few days away from old man winter in your good weather fun car, be it a Vette or anything else cool you drive (that is not seen as a winter car).

Agree, agree! Had my vette out this past fri & sat & enjoyed driving it as usual! I don't put my garage queen into hibernation for the winter but take advantage of clear roads.

I'm glad I put mine away in late October. We've had a bunch of salt on the roads in this area since the second week in November.

As predicted in my original post things have come to a grinding halt although driving a Hemi Challenger SRT8 100% year round is pretty cool (even 3 years later).

I shoveled 4.5 inches of snow from my driveway while wearing this!

I drove my car around over the weekend, but I don't think it's that "cool."

When I left my chiropractor's office in Burr Ridge today at about 3:30, a few doors down is a restaurant called Capri Ristorante (324 Burr Ridge Parkway, Burr Ridge), there was a C6 Vert parked out front. I don't know if the guy that drives it is an owner of the place or what, I see the car there all the time in warm weather. Doubt he frequents the forum.

Hi Jimmy, we went out to dinner Friday night took the Corvette. This is where Rudy K had the last Corvette show of the year late Oct. You had the sharp Mopar there. Too bad you left early the food is authenic Italian. We have been there for dinner 3 times now. I was the only one in the resturant that didn't speak Italian.

The owner doesn't own the Corvette. These are family owned Capri Restorante. The parents own the one in Burr Ridge, a son used to own the Capri in Downtown, Downers Grove. He just sold it. His brother owned the one in Northlake then Melrose Park, then Oak Brook ( all closed) he now owns one in Bloomingdale Road in Bloomingdale. Johny likes Corvette's had a Viper and a Ferrari. Now antique Harleys All have great food

As most of you know, I drive mine year around with a few exceptions. Sunday was one of those days.

Both the wife and Scott left home before me and both called within an hour and advised no trucks had been out, and I should probably watch football on TV at home!

Tomorrow I am driving it to Peoria for a photo shoot. The roads look good, but I will verify that tomorrow AM before departure.

Friday is looking good enough for a quick wash job for the red sled.

Nah, just a guy driving a car when it's safe to do so.

There are some slick parts along I55 between Joliet and Pontiac now. I'll check tomorrow morning and if that exists then, I'll zap the drive.

Not everybody agrees with me on driving it, but what the heck. For a seven year old car with 49,000 on it, it is top notch in appearance and mechanical condition.

You aren't doing too bad yourself buddy, driving that Mopar around.
