Ferrell Hicks Chicago Dealer
Does anybody from the Chicago area remember Ferrell Hicks 5727 S. Ashland in Chicago? I just got my Shipping Data Report from NCRS, and they tell me that's where my 1963 was delivered. I found out the Chicago Corvette Club started out at FH in 1958. Just curious if there is any old documentation or pics left, or if anybody knows what happened to the dealer. Did a Google on the address and the site is a vacant lot now.
Thanks,,

C4 of Year Finalist (stock) 2019
My parents bought a 1975 Caprice with a 454 from them in 1975. The dealership loses a long time ago, not sure what happened.
I smoked a lot of my friend in their family cars with our family car in 1980, that's when I got my license to drive, and later

Hey Yukon, Funny about the Caprice. We called those kind of cars "Sleepers". When you pulled up next to them they would put you to sleep, until they blew your doors off.
Quick Silver, Thanks for the research. I especially like the pick of the building, looks like about '64. The car listing of a 1979 with Ferrell Hicks origin lets me know they were around at least until then. I appreciate you looking around for me.

QS What do you mean "Post Card" ? Are you referring to the picture of the dealership?
If so, how do you figure 1960? The window banners state; Save Now,64 Clearance.

Oh, got it. c1960, as in Circa, (around) 1960.
That's a cool site. Amazing that you found it, and that the post card was even around for someone to scan it to the site.
Thanks again!

My dad bought all 3 of his Chevys from Ferrel Hicks The first was a 59 Impala Convertible that he traded in on the 64-409/425hp and then he traded that in on the 66 396/375hp Chevelle He turned 21 on Halloween of 66 so he definitely had good taste in cars. If he had kept all 3 he would have had close to a $250,000 investment. LOL

My Dad's 63' Impala Super Sport was purchased there as well. Just found this in his stuff. Anybody interested in purchasing? Would make a nice accessory. Contact me at bheilman320@gmail.com.
