4 post lift co. in Michigan?
Does anybody know of a company in Michigan that sells and installs 4 post lifts? I'm sick of scraping the snow off the car in winter while the corvette sleeps.
Thanks,
Tom

I'm thinking of doing same thing or adding on to back of garage in spring. I have been checking out SINGLE post lift I can't go 4 post. I have 2 car garage but with steps to enter house there won't be enough room between steps and two of the posts for wife's SUV. I will have to raise ceiling. I don't know of companies in Michigan I just searched the web looking for lifts.

You might want to contact manufacturers like BendPak to ask if they have dealers or installers in your area.
The install is fairly straightforward, but suggest you have a couple of guys, some dollies, and an engine hoist for the heavy parts.
I had to hire a flat bed tow truck to pickup at the freight warehouse and drop in the driveway.

Have Aresco install it (unless your a weight lifter) ~$600 Labor is worth it!
Took them all day and they knew what they were doing!
I have the BendPak Model # HD-9XW - http://aresco.org/bendpak_4_post_hd_9xw.html
It was the same width of the garage door opening and I do not have to fold mirrors.

The lowest price I saw was $1999 and 630 for installation and oil fill up. The guy said if you're just going to raise the car for the winter this is good. Not sure what he meant by that so I might go with the better one so I can do maintenance and not worry about it. 8000lb capacity.

I saw the Bendpack Model #8 and that one was around $3600 installed. The guy is coming out Monday to do an assessment. I'll ask him if it's worth the extra $1000 between the Bendpak and the Base model Aresco #7. Thanks for the info. I'm pretty pumped about not scraping the ice off the window every morning.

I have a three car garage with two cars that are stored in the winter so of course my daily driver sits outside in the snow and ice and the wife's daily driver stays in the garage.
I have a standard height garage with a drywall ceiling so I am thinking and wondering would I need to tear out the ceiling to have clearance for a lift and would I need a new garage door opener?
Also, I am concerned that a bedroom sits above the garage in which I assume there is insulation in the garage ceiling to keep the bedroom warm so would I solve one problem and create others.
Of course I should have someone come out and do a professional assessment but I guess I am thinking out loud to the forum members for their expertise from experience.
Any thoughts and/or suggestions?

I have 10'8" ceiling height in mine. But I still installed a Liftmaster 8500 side opener and "high-lift" door opener tracks for maximum clearance.

I came thisclose to ordering a BendPak, but found the Challenger to be slightly sturdier...
1/2" vs 3/8" cable
12"x12" vs 10"x12" column base
1,850 lbs vs 1,686 lbs ship weight
In the end, ETL/ALI is the most important item over all the other non-certified lifts.

Does the Aresco have ETL/ALI certification? Make sure you pick a lift that is!
Without an actual measurement, this means nothing.
