So with the warmer temps we barely get a 1/8 inch dusting of snow in the west suburbs, and of course fresh salt is thrown down overnight I heard from a snow plow buddy of mine. Good news is that rain is forecasted throughout the day and should pretty much wash that new salt away.
See Len B., this is just like late March/early April. If you get any winter events (and we hardly ever do the last 5 years, especially in early April), its a very light dusting of snow that's gone that same afternoon. Sure over the years (very rarely) you can get 3 or 4 inches of snow overnight in early April, but that is just melted away by that same afternoon)
Let the Countdown continue:
Just 25 days now until April 1st and only 14 days until the first (official) day of spring (March 20th)!

No surprise for early March but what is very frustrating is that it barely was enuff snow to be considered a dusting but stuck as freezing rain on elevated surfaces causing the fresh salt to come out.
Now we need another rain or two to wash that up and it won't be long now until the fun cars are out full time.
The good news is that:
Just 25 days now until April 1st and only 13 days until the first (official) day of spring (March 20th)!

Despite the recent salting of many areas it does not look like Elmhurst or Villa Park or Lombard laid down much salt that I can spot, so the winter beater went back in the storage garage and the 2016 Mustang GT is out, and should be out for a good solid week, as its all sunshine predicted despite some colder temps. Viper will also be out this weekend in the aforementioned (salt free) west suburbs for some fun and to keep that battery charged for the impending 2018 car season.

I would be there but got stuck with the wife making social plans for St. Patty's Day party in Elmhurst this Saturday, during the day. Third biggest St Patty's day celebration in Chicagoland, I call it amatuer day, a stupid reason for justifying drinking at 11 am in the morning with a bunch of drunks (Ughh)!

And what's even worse is seeing them puke at Elmhurst St Paddy's parade and all day party day that takes place every year 1 or 2 weeks b/f the actual St. Paddy's day!

It was an excellent day, 39 degrees and all sun, so I decided to take the day off (it's nice to be your own boss) and had my Mustang GT and Viper out all day!

I guess I'll take mine out and have lunch with some old Corvette friends...

Dan, that's me typing quickly without caring to proof read.
Being so close to Spring Road and the parade we got roped into today's festivities and we were partying from 11 am until 4 pm. The wife is now sleeping in her chair in our great room while I am getting ready to take my dog out for a walk. Some people know how to (and can) hold their alcohol and some cannot!
