Are these used for storing your car in the winter so no flat spots develop on the tires?
You could use it for that purpose but if you're mainly wanting that, Race Ramps offers "Flatstoppers" for that. You just roll up on those. For these cradles to be used as flat stoppers, you have to jack the car up and let each tire rest on each cradle.
This is used more as a jackstand alternative. It's used to raise a vehicle up to gain access to the undercarriage of the car.
