Looking at the website I'm confused by the "need a battery".
I thought the hydraulic unit plugged into an outlet??

Quick answer- They sell two versions - AC unit or DC unit. 120v AC and 12v DC
Simply one is powered with a standard outlet and the other powered by standard car battery. The 12vDC is the common car battery so it is able to be used at race tracks or anywhere to help with a portable use.

The one I have is 12 volt. It can be used anywhere including at the track just use jumper cables and the cars battery. I decided on the battery unit because it is faster. Mike
