But after that horrid November, December has been quite mild. Maybe the rest of the season can be like that? If so all the cars parked at my house might return to their homes sooner (I have a co-workers 2016 Mustang GT350R in my garage and my dads "new to him" 2012 S197 Mustang V6 Manual in the driveway). 3 battery tenders is oppressive on my electric bill...
Its all good my friend, its all good. Enjoy it while you can December has been awesome!

Rain washed the salt off of the roads, but when the temperature dropped they re-salted everything in our area again.

We got REAL lucky in all the west suburbs as those suburbs are not north enough for the temperatures to drop to freezing rain level, so all this rain today is washing away the salt all day, and both my pride and joy sport cars will be out sooner than later, especially as we head into the 40s forecasted for the weekend. Thanks GOD for a REAL easy December which essentially made almost 1/3 of winter go by really fast for me. Hoping for an easy January, but would not expect it to be as good as December was (but stranger things have happened).

Happy New year to you and your family Steve and praying that it's a Happy and Healthy New Year for everybody here!

Happy New Year to all.

I've finished restoring the 67's gauge and cluster and have started the re-installation.
I don't care how nasty it gets in January, I'll be spending the month in Napa Valley, CA.
But I'll be back just before Feb.
It's a cushy life but somebody has to do it.

Don

I was coming back from Grayslake on Monday and saw a beautiful new Lamborghini on Butterfield Rd. Just prior to that I was thinking how the traffic in front of me was kicking up all kinds of salt dust, which reminded me of a gravel road. I can't bring myself to take my car out until we've had several heavy rains and all that crap is washed off the roads.

That is what I did with my first Vette and, as they say, I kept it perfect for the next owner. I won't drive if I can see actual salt pellets but the dust will get washed off in spring.

I know Steve most guys won't drive their babies when there is a ton of salt powder out. Even I won't drive my beloved Viper or Porsche 911 if there is a fresh salting. But with 53 degrees and sun out today (Saturday) in early January, and the roads not being that bad at all right now (salt powder is dissipating), there is no way I was not going to be out in my Porsche all today and tonight and really glad that I was, b/c I LOVE driving these fast, super fun, unique and FAST cars (as often as I can weather permitting of course, and this December and January so far have been incredibly mild with minimal snow).

When I opened the garage Saturday to get the snowblower out, snow blew on the cover. Whew, nothing melted!!
