How things change in just a matter of a couple months.

After quite a few Zoom meetings, conference calls and discussions with your Drive Board, we have made the decision to change things up for the 2020 St. Jude Corvette Drive.

Originally, we had planned on being at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN at the time that this newsletter is being sent out. With COVID-19 impacting everyone and various stay at home orders, we decided a couple months back to move the date of the Drive to August 20th and 21st.

COVID-19 continues to impact our way of life and events throughout the region. St. Jude events are no different. To protect your health and the health of the patients, staff, volunteers and supporters at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, we have made the decision to adjust plans for our August event.

We will not be making a scheduled / planned trip to Memphis. Instead, Peoria will host the

St. Jude Corvette Drive: Kruzin' For The Kidz on Friday, August 21st from 10am - 4pm.

We welcome participation from our Effingham, St. Louis and Louisville satellite drives and hope each of you can join us. We plan on utilizing social media as well as text messaging to broadcast as much information during the day of the Drive as possible and make it a very memorable day. One thing is certain, we will have to respect social distancing as it is likely this will still be in place. We cannot allow large groups to congregate during the Drive. We will structure stops along the way that factors in social distancing.

Since this is a fundraising event for the kids of St. Jude, this will still be the focus of the Drive. Just because COVID-19 surfaced, doesn't mean cancer went away. The kids need you now more than ever!

Fundraising minimums will remain the same; $1,000 for the Driver and $500 for the Passenger.

Registration for the August 21st event will be $50 p/car. An Event Box will be provided to each car that registers which will include a Drive shirt(s), an event guide, car decals and other St. Jude items.

If you had already registered for the original Drive, you have two options regarding your registration fees. One is to transfer those registration dollars to your fundraising goals or the other is to request a refund.

Throughout the day, we encourage you to Drive your Corvettes to the random stops that we will identify to pick up other St. Jude items, offer up challenges or take photos. We may have some surprises along the way.....so stay tuned.

We promise that we will make our 9th Annual St. Jude Corvette Drive memorable.

Hotel room blocks for those traveling from out of town will be made. Please stay tuned for more information as details are being worked out as we speak.

I appreciate each and every one of you and for your dedication to the St. Jude Corvette Drive. We not only share the same great taste in cars but we also have huge hearts for the kids at St. Jude. Let's show the St. Jude families what the Corvette community can do!!!!!

Yes, You can drive on your own from any point on the compass and join us in Memphis on Thursday afternoon, May 14th, 2020. We would like to have 10 or more cars to add another "official" departure point and caravan to Memphis, but when the group is smaller than that you can group up and drive on your own. Looks like you are about 4 hours SW of Memphis. PM me and I will share the details on how to register. Thanks!
