Speed Inc and FLP are the 2 best shops in Chicagoland IMO. The guy who was rude to people at FLP no longer works there. SpeedInc is EXTREMELY BUSY but their owner Tom Izzo is outstanding with customer service and making sure the customer is happy. Mistakes are bound to happen here and there, but if Tom is aware of a problem he will do everything he can to make the situation right by the customer and that is tops in my book.

I bought a set of Motive Gear 4.10's from New Era Performance here on the forum. I am having Speed Inc install them right now. The gears are not setting up right and Speed Inc has done A LOT of these so I trust that they are not doing the install wrong. I have been on the phone with Speed Inc, Motive Gear, and New Era. New Era and Motive Gear are each telling me that the other party is responsible and/or that Speed Inc doesn't know what they are doing. Niether Motive Gear or New Era would ship another set of gears to me or to Speed Inc so that Speed Inc could get my car done so I simply bought another gear set and am returning the original set I bought to New Era. I must say I am disappointed with the customer service at both New Era and Motive Gear. Happy with Speed Inc so far. Will keep you posted.

This may mean nothing at all. After a fellow Corvette forum member brought Speedinc to my attention. So, all day today, I've been on an going email question and answer session with Tony at Speedinc. I had several question about the details of the tuning process and what is relevant for my Stock C5. Tony (the owner it seems) has been extremely helpful and has gone the extra mile in answering all my totally noob questions about tuning.

I now plan to go to Speedinc when I perform the street tune on stock vette. I wanted to pass this experience into the conversation.

Speed Inc. is a fantastic shop..... I have been doing business with them since they opened their doors the better part of 20 years ago. Nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread. You will be in good hands with them!!

Good to hear so many good reviews of Speedinc. I just completed a radio install. So, the next up grade is a performance tune, and Speedinc is on my list shops to use for the tune.

X2, n00bs are the annoying "CaptainObious" clowns that keep whining about why old threads get brought up. Make a new thread and they call you n00b and tell you to search...

There is a bit of good natured ribbing allowed here (an initiation if you will) so lets not get too butthurt over being called a n00b.

The "old timers" here remember all too clearly a forum rule that did not allow for a thread older than 45 days to re-open, in fact would then cause it to be locked.

wow, there is a rule for old threads not be re-opened after 45 days? So if i'm searching for X topic and found 1 that is old, has a lot of valuable info but it still missing stuff that might have been discovered/updated, then I should start a new thread and get called out a n00b & to use the search button? hahahaha It's a lose-lose situation, lol.

Have you actually tried the search feature? I did more than once, and found myself drowning in useless threads that happen to share search words. Might get lucky and hit on something the first or second try.
